“The Heart of Mayhem” is NOT your typical CrossFit documentary. We all love to watch our favorite elite athletes showing off their superhero capabilities, however, we wanted to showcase a different kind of story. One of CrossFit Mayhem members, who had almost lost all hope before finding the community only CrossFit can provide. Despite facing more obstacles in his 45 years than most of us will likely face in our lives, Phil continues to show up...and in so doing has elevated the atmosphere of Mayhem and those around him. He has become the heartbeat of the Mayhem community. We believe his story has the ability to inspire athletes around the world, because we’ve witnessed the impact here in Cookeville personally. We hope you can get a glimpse of the hope, inspiration and laughter we enjoy from Phil every week here at Crossfit Mayhem Cookeville Tennessee.

Fantastic representation of Phil. Every day Phil shows up with a smile on his face and willingness to participate. Always a pleasure to work out next to. During the open I made some comment about anxiety about a workout and he says, as in this doc, “It’s just another workout.” Really helped me to relax. So well done! Excellent job, Josh, Josh and everyone else that contributed. Mayhem is an amazing community of warm, open hearted and kind people. So happy to be a part of it!

I love that mayhem doesn’t forget the little people. They’re a different breed. HWPO, Invictus and PRVN don’t share the same love to their community like mayhem. This is why I always come back to mayhem for their online program. Because of their faith in Jesus, they crazy workouts that makes me second guess why I wanna do it lol and their love for their mayhem family. Athlete or regular person. Thanks for always being different than your competitors

Take away the word “CrossFit” and this is what every fitness business should aspire to be like and help people like Phil Take 30 mins of your time and watch this, be inspired. Everyone has a Phil in their life Everyone has someone who needs the support of others You never know what someone is going through This is how I would love to reach people with what Blueprint does. I had the privilege coming over from Europe this summer for the games in Madison - on of the highlights was to get to experience the Mayhem community at the camp. Me and my son felt so at home and has a blast interacting with all the amazing people and really wants send a huge thanks to everyone that showed so much hospitality!

Thank you so much for this video. I have watched it twice in a row. played it for my daughter. then played it again for my husband. and I will continue to watch. I wish there were more things like this on regular TV. People see so much violence and bad things, if we saw more good then it will lead to more good. And that's what the world needs.

I often tell my friends that the community support and emotional benefits almost make the physical benefits secondary. Remember when Glassman was invited by Harvard Divinity School and the discussion turned to asking Greg whether or not his Crossfit boxes has developed a community of love , support and camaraderie that most find lacking in their church experience. I think perhaps they were onto something that day. Greg was very humbled to even discuss it. I've survived a heart attack and cancer all the while attending Crossfit and this year I feel stronger and better than ever. Keep up the great work Rich, Mayhem coaches , day to day members and most of all you Phil !!!

So…I dropped by the gym this summer. I planned our trip to be sure we’d go through Cookeville. On the way… it was late Saturday or Sunday…I was sad I missed y’all. I made sure on the way home we would be able to spend time in Cookeville when at least the store would be open. I went, met Rich’s mother, bought t-shirts & rftrainers, & of course, coffee & other stuff! I got a glimpse of Seth & was thrilled…but now I’m sorry I didn’t meet Phillip. If I ever make it to Tennessee again…I will make sure I have time to work out Mayhem. I’ll always have to purchase my “ticket” to the games, but I will always indebted to my gym family. I am the “female version” of Phillip for our gym & I am thankful for the love they show me!!!! See you all in Ft. Worth! …bring Phillip! ❤

What a great piece, I think we all go to our gyms for a release. But to see the impact it has on everyone is great. I recently just got out of hospital after having blood clots on my lungs, I cannot tell how much I can’t wait to start training again. Thank you Phil for inspiring so many people
