Follow your Dreams - Miles to Fly is a graduation short made by 4 students from Multimedia University, Malaysia released in 2020. The story is about an ambitious boy who dreams of becoming a pilot but is torn between helping his mother's bakery to survive, or pursuing his dream.

That was so cute! All parents want to raise their children to be successful, smart, ambitious, but most importantly, happy. Although her son was happy to help, by encouraging him to follow his dreams, she made sure that he would be happy for the rest of his life doing what he loved. Excellent job to the 4 students that worked on this project!

@@lonewolf711_ You were lucky. My parents kept saying I needed to find a "real" job...that is... NOT working with animals. My dad even told me once..."You need to do a job you hate, so you can do some things you love". I never felt supported and have lost all contact with them...but I'm working with animals and happy in my work.

I love that the boy grew up to be a good and likeable person that loves his Mother so much! Its refreshing to see this, since the typical story is the kid grows distant as he gets older and not all kids do that. Instead, as he grew he understood and loved her more! So heartwarming. I love this short film! Its very refreshing and uplifting. I feel inspired to continue following me dream! Ahahaha Thank you for this matserpiece 🥰😄

I kind of agree on what your saying, as some parents can be pushy towards a goal or achievement they want for their kids or something that they missed or wished they had. It is always good to listen to your kids too and support them whether it's good or bad sometimes they have to learn the hard way but that doesn't that you just let me make bad decisions without giving them advise. The point is it's always good to be supportive and be there for them no matter what ❤ it's the love of a parent that will fuel them to be more determined in reaching their goal. For the children aswell always listen and always speak what you think to the parents as you will never know what they think about something unless you ask them or talk to them. It's always good to be open. Parents will always be there to support and guide. ❤Love and support❤Be kind and respectful ❤

My mom is currently in the hospital, she got stroke. She's a single mom and it's her and me who lives together now. This relate me a lot. I want to be a successful writer but I don't know how to be noticed. But I believe in God's plan. All the responsibilities are passed in my hands now and I know that I can do it. I'll make you proud mom.

For a second, I thought this would be similar to the "One Small Step" animation, but it isn't. I like the wholesomeness here. A great moral in finding a balance between taking care of yourself, and your loved ones. It's great!

Not many people can fulfill their childhood dreams as adults. The world of "I wish I could work" is the world of today. "This kind of life is wonderful," he said, and the work taught me with the warm world view that he taught me in the short animation of "One Small Step," and I almost cried. I left my child's dream behind for some reason, but I don't regret it. It's something that makes you want to see it again, and it's well done. I love this field the most because there are also short animations with content drawn in "real fiction".

I still think that their parenting styles and expectations differ in that most Chinese parents are strict disciplinarians and expect their 小皇帝 (xiao huangdi - little emperor) to study hard and follow in their footsteps so that he can climb one step up the social ladder and take care of them in old age while Indian parents indulge their 'लाडला बेटा' (dear son) 's every whim and continue hovering over him like helicopters throughout his life. I just can't imagine the story depicted in this animated film happening somewhere in Chinatown in LA let alone in China. The film is a cry from the heart, wishful thinking which exists in the head of the film director who is trying to hold onto his craving for a fantasy world replete with parents whose only mission is to make their children's dreams come true.

This short film 🎥 shows what real love can manage. You can follow your dreams, because there is someone who loves you, believes in your skills and abilities and wants you not to give up your dreams because of him. Love means to understand what people want to do to become happy and successfull. Love means not to condemn people when they are on their own way. To go one's own way doesn' t mean that you don' t love your friends and parents any longer. It means that you just want to live your own dream. Many people don' t like when their partners or their children follow their own way. They make them feel guilty to fulfil themselves. That' s no love. People have to follow their own dreams and aims. This isn' t selfish or egoistical. It' s the way it' s used to be in order to become happy. Love means to understand why people follow their own dreams and help them to achieve them. I'm a girl and I aways wanted to become a pilot but it's such an expensive course which I can't afford and there is no scholarship also. Now I'm 24yr, did my masters in physics but still hope to become comercial pilot. People say never give up on your dream, so let's hope one day. INSHA ALLAH

Exposition: This film tells the story of a boy named Miles Huang who has loved airplanes since he was little and dreams of becoming a pilot. Inciting Incident: Miles is very diligent in achieving his goals. He goes to school, does assignments until he falls asleep at his desk, but doesn't forget to always help his mother. Miles is really a good boy. Increased Action Miles' mother owns a cake shop, which Miles always helps out there. When Miles gets his invitation letter for the final exam to become a pilot, Miles worries about his mother. He saw his mother busy alone in the cake shop. If Miles leaves, he is worried about who will look after and help his mother. because Miles' mother was alone. Miles then discouraged him and chose to keep the letter. Climax One night when miles is resting, he is startled by a crashing sound from below. it turned out that the sound was the voice of Miles' mother who fell exposed to the floor. miles is very sad and panic. Resolution Miles rushed his mother to the hospital, fortunately her mother was able to recover. when miles was cleaning his cake shop, he saw one of the books in which there was an invitation letter from his academy. then he opened it and was surprised, the letter had been given "approval" by his mother, through a paper plane inside which was written "follow your dream" Denounment Mother's condition was getting better, when Miles returned to the hospital, he was already wearing his pilot uniform, which meant he had successfully passed the final pilot exam. mother who saw miles was very happy and they hugged.

I loved at the end when the mom hugged the son! It was so sad when she had to go to the hospital. Do you think when the son made the cupcakes sweeter than when the mom made them? I do.
