thanks all for the comments.. @JonnysVideos- if i understand your question clearly..if u want to use a matte painting in your BG you can either use a green screen or blur scree footage and key out the green colour or you can use any normal footage and roto out the part of your footage you wish to keep.

May I ask how do you make those puffy mist/fog/mist? Are they extracted from still images or are they particles? What techniques do you use to create alpha transparency and how do you merge them (screen/plus)? Thank you..
