Me too. I'd like to see more software take care of stressful and tedious labor. It takes the fun away for me when there's so much cleanup to do.

I really love your technics. You are awesome artist but one question I have, why you are not choosed Nuke for compositing.
@CGStirk3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. When I started vfx on the job, the company I worked for didn't have enough Fusion licenses so I learnt After Effects. I would like to play around with Nuke, but frankly, the price of the subscription is too much for me and I can do everything I need in AE

There are not that many options out there. Mocha can remove objects in moving shots but you have to track them first obviously . If there's no pixels available for an area you can paint a cleanplate in Photoshop to insert back into Mocha or just clone paint with Silhouette.
@CGStirk3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this is the only automatic approach I've seen. Still requires a bit of work if parts of the plate require different settings, but it still saves a ton of time even if you have to stabilize and then reverse it later.
@vodkaru59073 жыл бұрын
@@CGStirk if it could extract any moving pixels from still shots when there's no cleanplate that would be A plugin! Just wondering what would the be issue with a creating one hmmm seems pretty straight forward. That would save tons of roto work. Too bad there's no plugin for that. Stabilizing is a quick thing even with Mocha with tricky shots so this plugin is amazing. Heat distortions don't work for the same reason water doesn't in Mocha. There's no tech to simulate in and blend in the missing action between the occlusions. Maybe some content aware based approach some surroundings simulation factoring could do some half decent job. Some day it might happen. You know how it is Those big corps don't innovate at all nowadays. Mocha hasn't advanced forward with its dinosaur cumbersome tech and UI anywhere in the last years. You'd better to expect some innovation from Lockdown, Superpose and guys like that

You can use this to extract the moving pixels, although my example of the rain didn't show the result very well. The matte edges need to be cleaned up in general, though. Yeah, I can't wait for AI to make our lives as artists easier, but I realize that a lot of this is very complicated to create.
@vodkaru59073 жыл бұрын
@@CGStirk Yes you can when you have a clean backplate aka a background that's not obscured at some point just like that rain clip. I'm talking about when you don't have that
@CGStirk3 жыл бұрын
Ah, okay. Yeah, software that could interpolate where obscured pixels would be when they're occluded would be sweet.
