Loved this. I saw Doc perform once and I'm glad I got to see him. You can hear a lot of his influence on Billy Strings. Keep the tradition going younger players.

Wow man! What a story to tell!... I saw him 22 years ago for the first time in Ashland KY. I had only heard him on cassette. Didn't know he was blind until he was escorted on stage!

I was at this show as a sophomore in college, just getting into bluegrass and playing guitar and mandolin. In between sets I wandered into a room off the main hall where Doc was sitting noodling on his guitar. I said hi and shook his hand, and requested Deep River Blues, which I was learning. What a great moment...thanks for this recording!
