Guardian is my favorite Chinese BL series, the intro is phenomenal, it's impossible not to listen to it every time a chapter starts. I never get tired of repeating the series, just today I finished watching it again and I wouldn't mind watching it again with you

YES YES YES YES!!!! Please do check out Guardian, it's based on the BL novel of the same name by Priest. You will love it, I have yet to see someone who's watched it and not fallen in love with it. And the pretty men! Glasses - Zhu Yilong is his name, phenomenal actor. You should also check out that other song it showed at the end Time of Flight, it's sung by the male leads Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu

Guardian. For the cinematography, it needs a lot of imaginations from the viewers. But the acting of the two main actors, their chemistry, the little detail and nuances they gave 🔥😍💯

"Is this a BL Elemement?????!!!!" This was the START of the modern BL Boom in China. Guardian crawled so The Untamed could walk, so Word of Honor could run. (And then Word of Honor was so damn popular that it scared the government and caused them to change the laws again. That's how we got the brilliant Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Oooooh they were clever with that show.)

So, the novel Guardian, which the series is based on is by Priest. Priest also wrote Faraway Wanderers, which Word of Honor is based on. And the series was produced by Youku, which also produced Word of Honor.

Guardian, the novel, is a bl. And yes, the Chinese drama is a bromance. U should definitely check it, kinda low budget but worth it. The author of the novel, Priest, has lots of great novels and lots of adaptations too. Be it her bls or her het romances. Like the "bromance" Word Of Honor or her het one, Derailment.

Yesss. Guardian is amazing. This is another work by Priest (Word of Honor). Guardian really paved the way lol. I noticed that China bans it and pulls it every year or so lol. I love it and hope you can watch it. It's my second favorite by Priest. My number one is Mo Du aka Silent Reading. The series is called Justice in the Dark, but it only aired 8 eps before it was pulled. 😢

I swear we are on the same wavelength. I was JUST telling my grandma, who i got into watching dramas and BL's, that she needs to read and watch this series two days ago. And here you go releasing a video now. Spooky. Also the novel series is written by the same author who wrote the source material for Word of Honor. And Guardian has volumes 1&2 released in English, with 3 on the way. Author's name is Priest.

Wow I'm so surprised to see you haven't been aware of Guardian all this time you've been doing Chinese BL. It's the one that came before Untamed and Word of Honor. One note though is that the financing fell through after they recorded that fabulous theme song, so the production values are patchy but the performances of the cast are what carry it. Definitely check it out.

Guardian was one the first chinese 'bl' that i watched which i love to this day, you should definitely check out The Spirealm its more on the horror/mystery but the relationship and chemistry between the male leads is soooo good

Один из моих любимых сериалов ❤ На самом деле у него есть свои недостатки, частично связанные с низким бюджетом, частично - с необходимостью изменять сюжет под цензуру. Но актеры сыграли прекрасно. Концовка - эпична. 🔥🔥🔥 И музыка, да, это один из красивейших опенингов.

I love this show!! It is indeed a bromance based on a BL novel, and while some people don't like the special effects, if you could survive any other supernatural show before 2010 then it's pretty okay.

Guardian had a low budget, so their CGI is a bit cringe at times but I genuinely find the series to be really special. It's a BL with censoring similar to The Untamed in terms of making it appear as a "bromance", but the story is focused on a special agency called the S.I.D. who solves crimes committed by magic beings called Dixing.

Except for the acting skills of the two leading actors, the show is not highly praised in all aspects. Some people believe that the plot of the show is not a top-notch work, and it relies entirely on the actors to lead the "hit" series. The scenery, special effects, and supporting actors' acting skills are all classified as "shoddy."

The whole company went bankrupt, actors had to use their own clothing on set, the script was messed up because of censorship, but despite that the whole cast delivered such good performance,not just the leads.

This show had no money. Like NOOOOO money. The effects are cheesy as hell... Yet everyone who watches it, rewatches it... multiple times. It's that good. And yeah... the romances.... Have you ever watched Torchwood (The adult Doctor Who spinnoff)? This is basically Chinese Torchwood... including the Queer overtones, ESPECIALLY between the leads.
