Finally a plot that is unpredictable and not saccharine, I am really enjoying this show

Like Edison said, Tong is smart! He covered all bases when he called Ming: if Ming liked him, Ming would restrain Joe, but if Ming liked Joe, knowing Sol and Joe were becoming a "ship/imaginary pair" (which Tong lied about) would set off Ming and he would also restrain Joe. I think it's the latter happening here or maybe a bit both. Hard to read Ming.

Episode 4 really was the turning point with a lot of people siding against Ming being with Joe. And I understand that perfectly. I'm not judging anyone who likes or dislikes Ming. However, I'm going to share a few observations. Have you noticed that we the audience know what is going to happen? But the characters remain oblivious. We know more than the characters do, who they are interacting with and so forth. With that in mind it does start to make sense as to why these characters behave the way they do. For example Joe calls Ming and says to pack your things and leave. He doesn't explain why. Now switch that perspective and imagine if it was Ming saying this to Joe. People would have sided with Joe. We the audience know why Joe is upset. But Ming doesn't know and what Ming hears at that moment is "hey I got bored of you". Ming thinks that Joe was using him, he wasn't but that what it felt like to him. As Ming later says this to Joe: "You told me to move in, so I moved in. And now you're kicking me out? What am I to you?" But doesn't it sound a lot like what Joe would have said to Ming? Eventually as we all know their argument continued at the house. But what I find it darkly humorous is that both of them think the other guy is cheating. And the thing is they're both valid in thinking that way, none of them gave a reason to think it differently. Because they don't have the full context that we the viewers do. We know there is nothing going on between Sol and Joe. But does Ming know that? Not really. We know that there isn't nothing going between Ming and Tong. As in they are not sleeping together. But Joe doesn't know that he assumes that they do. Miscommunication at its finest on both sides. Now I'm not justifying or excusing anything that Ming has done or will do. I'm just trying to give a third perspective if you will. Whoever reads my comment. Respect. Because it wasn't my intention in writing essays, its just I get very invested in small details.

I think what’s the worst is how low Ming thinks Joe is. He torches Joe’s career in a matter of seconds like his reputation and work ethic that he built for ten years meant nothing which to Ming it did. And he seemed more offended that Joe would break up with him because he is so much lower than his standards. His whole attitude he’s just like ‘dumped by the stunt double, are you kidding me? I can take not being with Tong but being rejected by this nothing person that’s where I draw the line.’

If Joe had shown up , they would have announced him as the lead, but when Tong showed up, and Joe didn't, Tong got his job back on the spot. They could not tell the people they didn't have a lead actor or that the lead actor could not make it, especially since Joe is not famous.

IDC what people say the cat fight was hilarious. ‘Cause I’ve never seen someone so bad at fighting yet they actually won the fight. 😂 The thing that I like about this show is that they don’t soften how much abusive this relationship is. And sure by the end of this story they’ll end up together( ‘cause yah know BL …🙄) but that is not just because Joe forgives Ming, but partially because he was trapped by the circumstances AND Ming that Joe gives up and stays with him. That’s a tragic hero. Love means shit if you don’t have a decent character.

Im with Edison. I want revenge. These men ruined Joes life. I dont want peace, I want problems.

I wanted Ming's head after this episode.

I have seen two types of reactions after this episode. One side, the people that pity Ming and only see the part where he waited two years for Joe to return and who forgot the emotional, mental and the physical abuse Joe went through at the hands of Ming. The other side where people just PRAY FOR MING’S DOWNFALL. Ming doesnt respect Joe or his feelings at all and treats him a possession. He is manipulative, possessive and abusive, therefore he is an abuser. Ming has verbally abused Joe and now add physically abuse. Some have tried to dismiss Ming’s behaviour for example as him just being a young guy who is unstable and immature, now all that may be true but that DOES NOT and IS NOT AN EXCUSE for ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR. I could care less if Ming has been waiting for two years for Joe to come back. Ming waiting for Joe like that wasnt romantic at all in my opinion. Ming knocked Joe out and put him on house arrest, all because of his jealousy or just because Tong told him to ect, the reason doesnt matter because it doesnt not make what he did any less bad or make it disappear. Ming is responsible for his actions, period. I really don’t know how I could see Ming in any different light after this. The abuse and the level of evil and selfishness to sabotage Joe’s life for favor with Tong leaves no redeemable qualities in my book. Joe is such a sweetheart and deserves better. His and Ming relationship is toxic/abusive and I truly do not want them to end up together! In my opinion it has already been shown through out the series that this relationship is abusive but you’ll find more as the series goes on. I’ve seen many people say how they dislike/hate Ming but also some people have been putting the blame on Joe. Some have said that because Joe made this or that choice then what happens is on him or that if Joe goes back to Ming then what ever happens is on him/his fault. Some have even said that Joe is bigger/stronger and so he could just defend himself in any given situation. All of those statements are VICTIM BLAMING. Joe is a victim, and the victim blaming that I have seen is devastating but also unfortunately not suprising. It could be that some do not understand how abusive relationships work and how that affects you mentally and physically. Since the beginning there have been red flags but sometimes you are unable to notice them and before you know it, your in a abusive relationship that you cannot get out of and the cycle of abuse has been created. Getting out of a abusive relationship doesnt happen over night and it isnt easy, because you may not be even aware that you are in a abusive relationship to begin with or that youre being abused. For example some are able to leave an abusive relationship themselves and some leave with the help of others but there are also many who only get out of a abusive relationship when the abuser wanted to end their relationship. In some cases once a person is out of an abusive relationship, they are able to stay out and not return to their abuser but there are also people who unfortunately have ended up leaving and returning to their abuser multiple times, until ultimately finally breaking the cycle of abuse and getting out of the abusive relationship. All that being said, There is NO such thing as a perfect victim and therefore non of those things make you any less of a VICTIM. Ming at some point realizing he loved Joe, wanting him back and feeling guilty because of how he treated Joe in the past and how Joe felt pushed into a corner & took a job he shouldn't have and it cost him his life or Ming loving Joe and Joe loving Ming… That still DOES NOT mean they should end up together. If Ming says sorry and is sorry and is ready to be forgiven, that DOESNT mean Joe is under any obligation to forgive him. Joe has the right to his feelings and what ever he maybe feeling, hurt and anger ect cause all of that is valid. He also has the right to say how he feels after everything that happened between him and Ming. I really hope this series doesn’t go that way I think it will, where the abusive person gets a redemption arc. There is no redemption for Ming in my opinion. The happy ending for this series should be something along the lines of Joe getting out of his relationship with Ming and getting Ming out of his life completely. Joe getting help for his trauma and being able to rebuild his life again, ultimately finding his happiness again alone or with someone new. I have to admit that this is a biased opinion. As i’m someone who has been through abuse and experienced being in a toxic/abusive relationship before. So for anyone who reads this, this is just my thoughts/opinions. I respect and think everyones thoughts and opinions are valid, as we all are different and therefore see things differently. I would love to hear anyones thoughts as well, as I love getting to hear different pov’s on things. My only wish is for everyone to be respectful, thank you. I can't see how Ming is redeemable. He treats Joe like a possession, not a lover. Forgot to add that I don't know who I loathe more, Ming or Tong. Both are trash in my book.

I didn’t like Ming from the beginning, but after this episode I hated him. He knocked Joe out, chained him up and then got him blacklisted. There is no coming back from that. I agree with Edison. I want Joe to have some type of revenge on Ming and Tong. Justice for Joe!!
