Fans are quick to turn on an athlete once they lose. But in her case, the criticism largely stemmed from her unwillingness to publicly and candidly acknowledge those losses.

indeed it wasnt about the fact that she lost , but ow she took day to this very day, she was acting in a horrible way when she was at the top but when she fell not a whisper nor did she try to reddeem herself and become a better person , its important to remenber what led to the fact that people enjoyed her fall

Her victories were totally legit, she just let a coach who knows about striking and nothing about grappling try and turn her into a striker. If she was 25 and had a coach to focus on her strengths she might still have struggled against Nunes and now Kayla Harrison, but to say she was all fluff and no substance is ridiculous, especially when you see how Tarverdyan quickly derailed other good fighters like Browne, Ellenberger and Shahbazian, she won in spite of his efforts in my opinion. Does absolutely nothing to change the fact shes a bad winner and a terrible loser though

@@joefosh BULLSHIT She was a lifelong martial arts Olympic medalist with a mother who was the same to guide and train her even more …that was given the belt ( never fought to earn it ) and put in the cage against women who were maybe 3 to 5 years off the couch. The very second she faced someone else who had also been fighting professionally for a long time she looked absolutely incompetent and ridiculous. She literally couldn’t even take Holm down and in fact Holm took her down. The split second she got into the cage with a fighter who had real long term experience she looked like she had never fought a day in her life. You need to go watch that fight again 😂

I'm still so disappointed with the way she handled that Holly Holm loss. She completely turned her back on the world and acted like she was the most unfairly treated human being in the universe when she lost fair and square. Losing is extremely disappointing but it's not personal and it's not unfair, if she just congratulated Holly and said she'd like the chance for a rematch most fans would have completely forgotten about her loss and still embraced her. She has this ego where she feels like the whole world is against her and she deserves to be looked at as this mythical invincible fighter.

In a past video, you said if a person understands why there are ceremonial weigh-ins, why the BMF belt doesn’t have a lineage, and why we go towards regulations rather than away, that person knows the business of fight promotion. I believe the answer to the first question is advertisement. Sponsors are what keeps the lights on. This is why the UFC could hold events with no live gate and still remain in business. Chael, I know you read the comments and I also know that if I’m right your not gonna tell me, but that’s my answer to one of the questions

I suppose it's a way of looking at things. With Rhonda specifically, she was built up in a way that surprised me. People began making astonishing claims (based on very little information might I add) about her abilities. Claims that I frankly couldn't believe, adult men, competent men, were suddenly making outrageous claims about her. To go from that, people taking up two packs a day just to blow smoke up your ass, to she is washed in the span of a few weeks, is probably a difficult pill to swallow. A few weeks ago, you were saying outrageous things about me that you knew weren't true(I'd hope), and now you are being a little more honest, a little harsh about me. From her perspective, if you were lying about me then, why aren't you lying about me now? To me, the problem isn't her hurt feelings. The problem is the lying, the outlandish and fantastical claims that were being made about her. But in an age where after every card, there's a new pound for pound greatest of all time! The greatest knockout evah, EVAH!!! Do not doubt it! Homie you done changed the game! The problem is humans tendency to exaggerate and aggrandize issues they are connected to. Hottest summer ever! The heat index is off the charts! Not a big storm, it's a super storm! The polar vortex is coming! You hear someone say it everyday about something. Things have never been this serious before! You don't understand, if you don't agree! But every age, the people living in it, when they heard someone say the world is coming to an end because just look at all the chaos going on in the world, you don't believe that person but you can see where they are coming from.

She wants the Mike Tyson, Marvin Hagler type treatment. Where they made their mark, rose to the very top, and regardlessof how their careers ended, people still treat them like gods years later. No doubt she wants the same treatment. She made her mark, rose to the top, career ended on a down note just like Tyson and Hagler, but she is not getting the same type of praise they get. She does deserve lots of credit, and i think she'd be getting it, but she created a bad image for herself, which is why she is not praised. You cannot deny she was great, but fans are not gonna give her that type of praise because of her self made image. She could've had better people around her to help with her image.

You are definitely the master at bringing kayfabe into MMA and you trash talk with the best of them but I respect you for taking your losses on the chin

The way people like to try to rewrite history amazes me... No one can top what Ronda did when she did it... She went from first UFC women star to megastar... Say what you want but I'm right ... If you disagree prove me wrong...

She was heavily, HEAVILY hyped by a media desperate to push more girl power bs in a "man's world". I remember those days. She literally got in on the ground floor of women's division in the UFC. When the competition finally rose, as it inevitably does, she COLLAPSED. I have seen the media hype people up only to see them crash so many times I stopped counting many many years ago. Rhonda was a creation that collapsed when actual talent faced her. She never recovered. That's not a true champion.

People did sort of immediately turn on her and say the loss to holly proves she was never good in the first place and tried to shit on her entire career as a result of the loss.

I bet Chael Sonnen would be the one to figure out how to integrate pro-wrestling bump taking as a form of damage control in an MMA fight.
