The only way Ronda Rousey is one of the best of all time is when you consider that it was still a division in its infancy. Idc, Ronda brought more attention and views to women's MMA and the UFC in general when she was fighting and no one has drawn close to that kind of hype since. The only fighter she can't beat is Jon Jones, but that's only because he's so good at beating women.

@@micfail2 Sorry, if you believe this you may have never been in any sort of a combat sports gym in your life. Ronda is not going to beat many of the UFC guys if any, especially as she can't box. But if you pick some average guy who has never thrown a kick or punch before and put them against an Olympian or someone training at a good school for years, that guy is going to find it a little difficult.
@micfail24 жыл бұрын
@@ThatWookieGuy I'm just relaying what the scientific data shows.
@ThatWookieGuy4 жыл бұрын
@@micfail2 I agree that a trained high standard MMA fighter will most likely beat a high level female, or a higher level female. That's a valid point. Faster twitch muscles, more red blood cells, stronger, one study found average male hits 162% hard than average female. I agree there. However, chances are that some dude off the street or his couch is going to walk in and smash an Olympian or its equivalent in other combat sports is small. Have you seen most guys who even try to fight on the street? Technique is awful, gas tank is almost non existent at times. If you train, think back to when you started. Poor defense and movement, slow, the shots hurt, horrible technique. I agree with male physical advantages absolutely, that's science. But some average Joe with no combat background beating an Olympian level female? Don't think that's likely based on close to a decade's experience. That's just my 2 cents.

You're right that nobody thought Holly would destroy her...but the vast majority of fans (not just the MMA and boxing fans) knew that suggesting she would beat Floyd Mayweather was absolutely ridiculous. That calling her the "greatest to ever do it" after 10 fights was ridiculous. That she would get waxed in any of the men's weight classes. The only people who bought into that narrarive were Joe Rogan, the mainstream media (who wanted it to be true more than anything), and Ronda herself. I never thought she was anything extraordinary as a stand up fighter. and I absolutely knew she was gonna lose that fight to Holmes. Most of her previous fights were won mostly by psychological intimidation and fear, through all the hype that constantly surrounded her. Holly just saw through it, and believed in her own abilities. In the end, her loss to Holmes, and subsequent downfall was probably a blessing in disguise, which ultimately opened her up to more opportunities.
@evangelionl0vr8572 жыл бұрын
Holly saw through her intimidation tactic because holly was the first person Rhonda fought with a true champion caliber fighter mentality. Holly was a championship boxer, she had seen this type of shit before and that experience allowed her to stick to the game plan that her trainers had come up with and absolutely demolish Rhonda.
