Paying full attention to KD is worth a million times more than the addictive pills and psycho-babble bullshit from the so-called experts and professionals. He is so honest and genuine, which is why he got enlightened in a remote temple in Himalayas - sharing wisdom that simply could not be taught in a Harvard Medical School.

Carolina1 All Indian Gurus r not filled with ego. N one of those were Maharaj ji, he didn't demand any money nothing. Well this is the true way to identify a true guru they will never ask for money n will reveal ur past present everything n then u will urself want to surrender ur everything to that guru n that was experienced by Ram Dass KD n many Others who have shared their magical experience with maharaj ji. Some gurus r really enlightened but unfortunately some fake ones r deteriorating the true essence of Yoga Sprituality.

Beautifully and sensitively stated. Having been involved with a charming, sensitive, suffering addict for 20 years who ultimately died. You speak the truth. I tried every strategy on planet earth to no avail. Heartbreaking. RIP Marianne I'll forever miss your bright eyes, smile and wit.

Wow! Such wise words Sir. The talk gave me a new way of looking at the world. Our senses are burning! That in itself is suffering if we loose our vote to them.

im liking it addiction masks the gap from small self to true self.... learning/choosing to self comfort....let go by degrees ...care about yourself.. & the condition shall follow like a cat's tale.. in regard's to other's addiction...see every man/women/child whole..you give them the best chance that way...the light is light..addiction is loud

In my humble opinion, the only way to “cure” addiction is by replacing it with another form of addiction which doesn’t kill but empower the addict to deal with his issues. First thing to brave those odds is to allow yourself to be humble.

I saw several people "celebrating" 4.20 as cannabis day. Let's strip away all delusions and illusions as the foundations of love and compassion. Any substance habit subverts human happiness. The sources of well-being are not found in taking on any substance addiction. Whatever is put into the body becomes part of the subtle energy physical and dense bod, as well as the emotional and mental bodies for a long time. I stand for happiness, health, love, compassion and wisdom. I am not influenced by popular trends regardless of how many follow.

When I finally found the strength to end my cocaine addiction, it meant quitting a popular band, disassociating with friends who still "used", leaving the entire triggering structure behind. None of those friendships have returned; several were very deep and close friendships but I ultimately realized I was gonna die if I didn't put a stop to it all. Period. End of story. That was 20 years ago. Other friends of mine have not been so lucky.....some are gone due to their addiction. The "luck of the draw?"

For an answer to why some have addictive personality types & other do not,see new series on utube called the Ghost Inside my Child.Actual testimonials from children in the west remembering their past lives and beyond. This is about our Samskaras. Than checkout the book about our Yugas by Sri Yukeswar called the Holy Science. He narrates how the Yuags influence,s our spiritual & technological evolutionary arc which is cylical. We are currently in the Dwarpara yuga, having left the Kali yuga in 1893. Good news, but the momentum of the Kali yuga & its patriarchal mentality is still at work.

If you free yourself from that co-pendency .... how do I, who is being hurt by his addiction as he is hurting himself free myself from that damaging co-dependency? I have further questions regarding this that makes me seek your guidance and suggestions.

we suffer because we make other creations suffer. It's inevitable and it's the framework of everything that has to end one day everything that has begun. we make mistakes every day kill many every day in every creation of life. hard for humans to understand but even every plant or animal we hurt, every flower we pluck, every insect we crush, every animal we slaughter makes an unbalanced equation and to balance that equation we made brings suffering because it's not how nature is meant to be handled. we humans are supposed to be conscious of every step we take. Our ability to think right and wrong makes us more fragile and suffer every day.

There is a new series on utube called; The Ghost Inside my Child.Actual testimonials from children in the west remembering their past lives and beyond. This does answer the question why do we have addictions, depression etc.It is the force of past life Samskaras on our present pathos of thoughts. This also dovetails nicely with Sri Yukeswars work on the Yugas-book;The Hoky Science, which indicates that we are currently on an ascending spiritual evolutionary arc which is cylical.

He said the right things to her, it was nice to see her smile in the end. My brother died age 42, it was the saddest thing, I had this fantasy to save him and make him happy. Packed my suitcase with candles and incense, and the Guru's picture, they (my two brothers) must have thought I lost the plot and turned mad. And the super vegetarian food I cooked was classified "prison food", I must admit, I'm a horrible cook. Can't blame them. 19 years later, I still feel partly responsible for his death, (it wasn't the food, he had throat cancer and was an alcoholic), even though I know I am not to blame. I was the little sister, I had no power to protect him in our childhood, and I had no power to make him happy. I hope this lady will come to a point of self-love and care, and learn about not taking on other people's responsibilities. I wish her well.

Kd lived with a perfected soul, lucky him, but except for his singing he is still a work in progress. He seriously should not be counselling people, esp when he often implies that going to India makes him more qualified. In that case all the beggers in India must be world-teachers. Kd was a begger from New York, who learned zilch by being with MaharajJi
