My Grandfather moved to a 217 Acre farm in 1922 in central NC. Red clay and white flint rocks were everywhere. He wound up clearing almost 100 acres in ten years with mules and some hired machinery at times plus 30 acres of pasture. Where there's a will, there's a way. Yes it was slower back then but they used dynamite for stumps and time was on their side. Keep up the good work and stay safe especially when days are long.

Just an additional piece of info, clover has to be inoculated in order to give you nitrogen back. After a couple of years you may not have to buy inoculated since the previous plantings would have introduced enough rhizobial bacteria into the soil to create nodules on the clover roots to generate nitrogen. Different clovers require different types of bacteria and on new pastures probably won't exist naturally.

You may need to rent or purchase a rock picking machine. To help with erosion, you may could use the rocks to prevent erosion in the areas that erode heavily. You could also use rolls of plastic sheets and stacks.

The Haybuster 107 is one of the best no till planter. I owned one for over 10 years. When we bought it the cost was $8500. Just a pointer you could have fill the back hopper with one type of grass seed the other with a different seed and then the clover box. The 10 stands for 10 feet the 7 stands for 7 inch spacing between the planters.

When i get my next farm , It will be a Minimal farm. Mainly because i don't have the money to run a big farm. I will grow fruit and nut trees, With a garden enough to provide for about 20 people. I mainly just like growing stuff. And helping people with food is a cool thing to add. I will not be doing this to make money. But it will save me money on food, and provide me with healthy food that i know its healthy. What we get in the stores we have no idea what is being done with it. Sense i started growing my own food years ago, I have noticed i feel much better. I started eating tomato's by picking a couple and eating them before i go to work. Then i started adding new and different things to my garden every year. Each new thing gives me practice, and ways to fix my mistakes. And learning from others from youtube videos is a great way to learn before you even start gardening.
