Valetta was the first euro game that I played years ago. I've been a euro gamer ever since.

Not sure if it was intended, but the video ended abruptly for me. It felt like you still had a sentence or two left. That said, I've noticed this game for sale on a local FB group a few times, and it always catches my eye due to the Franz artwork as well as the font on the title which reminds me of another game (Orleans?). Your final thoughts summed up my conclusion of the video: I'd probably be bored of it after a game or two, but it looks like a nice introductory deckbuilder, maybe in tandem with Quest for El Dorado. If I see it cheap, I may give it a shot. Thanks for the informative review!

It reminded me a lot of Masters Of Renaissance, another simple game but with a very well-oiled mechanism. I would not be so in agreement with limiting the enjoyment of this type of initiation euros. It happened to me recently with Santiago de Cuba. We played it again and the game took us twice as long to finish it. Fantastic reunion with this kind of eurogame that, knowing it perfectly, dedicates yourself to polish certain skills with the possibilities that the game itself offers you.

Got it really cheap (£9) on ebay recently.Really enjoy it,but yeah,it's a lovely game for a dozen plays or so,but longevity isn't it's strong point.A good game though to introduce people to deckbuilding and hand management/light Euro.The added twist at game end is a nice mechanic and touch,unlike most similar games where it pays you to thin out your deck. A nice gentle thumbs up from me.
