It’s Finished! Here is part 4 of this dresser makeover.
In this video I add the final touches to this dresser using Chalk Paint and Clear Wax. Join me as I add some shadows to the wood details and create a hand painted motif that is inspired by Chinoiserie style art.

You are an artist. There is no way I could free draw or paint a design on anything no matter how many "how to" videos I watch. The dresser is beautiful.

Yeah exactly I don't think that I could ever do this either. And because I couldn't I think what I would do is print out a design to fit the dresser and then put carbon paper underneath it and trace it out and then fill it in with paint

This is stunning. Also, it was good to see you use wax on the piece. You don't see the youtube furniture flippers using wax much anymore because of all the other liquid topcoats available. But there's something special about waxing, like you said. Especially on the Annie Sloan paints. The waxing makes the finish come alive but with a richness and hand-crafted feel. Thanks for your great videos.

I am on a low income in NZ and the only furniture I own is _very_ old so it's well-made but it's all stained and watermarked etc, and a lot of the drawers have no handles left! I even own a beautiful old dresser that was left in an outside shed for years so was used by small animals etc to nest in for a long time before I got it. I cannot afford new furniture, but have decided I want to try to make the old stuff look nice. I'm using your videos as inspiration thank you so much 💚 :) Ps; I can't believe how beautiful your artwork is in this video!!

I’m relatively new to using chalk paints, but your step by step process has been crucial to helping me improve and avoid silly mistakes that end up costing me more time and resources. It’s very beautiful, glad you painted the drawers. Clearly your creative skills are greater than some of us would be capable of, as far as the hand painted design I couldn’t risk the whole piece being compromised by my minimal drawing/art ability. I’d compromise by using IOD transfers perhaps. Thank you for this inspirational piece, I’m about to start my own slightly smaller project, and you’ve given me a little more confidence to test my skills a little further!

This turned out wonderful ! I'm not a hand painter, (too much arthritis). I wish there were large transfers with animals and birds like this. Perhaps you could design some ?
