The Last of the Mohicans is good and The Adjustment Bureau and Deja Vu. Hmmm. I also like Rachel McAdams in The Time Traveler's Wife, The Vow, and About Time. 🤔 My favorite ... Maybe The English Patient or 50/50 or Strictly Ballroom or When a Man Loves a Woman or Gattaca or Baby Driver? Then there's classics like Dirty Dancing, The Bodyguard, Pretty Woman, and Top Gun ⭐ Ooo True Romance ❤

This is one of my favourite films of 2024 so far. I really loved the ending, and how it wasn't about whether Tashi would end up with Art or Patrick. Art regains his confidence while he and Patrick share a reconciling hug, and Tashi cheers from the sidelines. They all seem to have regained their passion for tennis and connection with each other, after all this time.

YES! With the way they were building tension through that final run (and the whole movie tbh), I had no idea how they were gonna resolve it. I thought it was gonna be real unsatisfying. But the ACTUAL tension and release at the end??? It works perfectly. It works so well into their tennis is sex motif and I loved it 🥵

You could TELL a film freak was behind the camera, because the shots in that last scene were wild. I will say, it did feel like it came out of nowhere at points. For example, the tennis ball POV, the shot “below” the tennis court, the MEGA slow mo- a lot of cool creative takes happened towards the end. I wonder if there was a purpose or they just threw it in there for fun.

Literally my exact thoughts!! Though I really enjoyed it at times because it kinda felt like I “was the ball” or a part of match. But sometimes it definitely caught me off guard so I also wonder what the intentions were behind each shot. I hope they talk about this later if they get the chance.

I know this might sound like a crazy comparison, but watching Challengers I felt it was somewhat similar to a movie in 1977, The Turning Point. Both those movies focus on career obsessed individiuals and what they go through. Literally one of the characters (Deedee) is trying to live vicariously through a loved one after leaving her career as a ballerina, just like Tashi Duncan living vicariously too (albeit through Tennis duh). That was just one of the things that I felt was similiar to The Turning Point too. From romance, career climbing, and public image.

FRR THE MUSIC WAS SO GOOD AHHH! Also I noticed how the camera also films their conversations like a tennis match with quick cuts and steady angles. It can be jarring but it was fascinating to me, I was so engaged! Also I think the camera focusing on body parts and objects added to the sensual and intimate tone of the movie. 👀Just some of my thoughts. 🙏🏼I’m so glad you covered this movie! once again a very thorough analysis! 👏🏼

I want to add: Art and Patrick are very rich at least their parents thats why they went to a tennis boarding school. Tashis Parents are not rich(perhaps even poor?) maybe a reason why Tashi is living and breathing Tennis, because that was her chance to get her family to more money. But with her injury that Chance was blown and maybe thats also a reason why she is so persistent. I am just interested to know why she first attends college "to learn more" so that she has more skills besides Tennis but in the end does not follow through? Maybe because like her Character Rue in Euphoria she is addicted to it?

I LOVED every messy, complicated, toxic co-dependent minute of this movie! The cinematography - muah,. The time jumps were like a tennis match (back and forth). IMO, the music seemed to be used to show the emotion in the scenes more than the actual spoken words. Nothing about this film was cookie cutter. To me, the ending was chef's kiss. She'd said earlier in the movie that she just wanted to see some good f***ing tennis... She yelled 'Come on' and smiled because she got it PLUS Art and Patrick are friends once again. Best movie I've seen in the last few years! Just BRILLIANT!

I was looking for a few people to do some voicovers for the cgaracters in a book I recently published, and your voice would perfectly match for applying as I'm looking for someone with a similar voice range. I know it's a little off topic but let me know if there's any possible way you'd be interested! Also lovee the videos btw. I've been obsessed with streaming your content this week and subscribed! Warning: a novel. I think Challengers is such an ingenious movie. On first watch, it is easy to accuse Patrick of being the villain but when I watched it again, he is the most innocent of them all. Art, I feel, is the actual villain. First, he sacrificed such a meaningful, wholesome, and healthy relationship with his best friend and swapped it with a super toxic one where he was humiliated. (I also think that in the relationship between him and Patrick, Art again had a more passive role but Patrick never put him in his place in a malevolent way, while Tashi did exactly that. She downright detested Art for his weakness. In the "intimate" scenes, Art literally crawled towards Tashi and outreached his hands towards her. The second time he even laid in her lap, while she looked disappointed with him.} Second, Art was the one who ruined his best friend's relationship with Tashi. Third, he was the one to hold grudges against Patrick, even though Patrick tried to make amends (in the brutal sauna scene I felt so sad about Patrick). And I love how Patrick pointed out what exactly he thought of Tashi in his car the night before the final game - that she was trash just that she was bothered by it. Between Tashi and Patrick, I think, there was a super strong bond because they both were leaders who enjoyed power games but that led to the end of their relationship. In the love scenes between her and Patrick, one time he was on top, then she was on top, and in his car, she was on his chest, clearly showing equality and even submission on Tashi's side. But I guess Tashi never stopped loving that dynamic and that's why she always came back to Patrick whenever he made a move towards her. In the last moments of the movie when Patrick gave the sign to Art, at first he was crushed and lost his temper but then regained his strength and those smiles between the two of them meant that they had healed their relationship, finally, Tashi didn't matter and the only thing that mattered was the two of them. The hug in the end was the best thing ever, I almost cried. Tashi finally orgasmed because she finally saw passionate love on the court. Good for her, whatever gets her off, haha. On codependency: without Art, Patrick didn't care about tennis as much - a few times in the movie it was pointed out he was very good but didn't have that much ambition and was cocky. However, the friendly competition and support from Art made him a strong player. Art had a passion for the sport and he also needed Patrick to keep the fire going. Without him, he looked like he was ready to die. And it was in the final scene where the two of them again had each other and played the old tennis they had played before Tashi.

it's a neverending battle lol but if I get a claim on upload, I just go back and edit the video as much as possible to avoid detection - it’s easier to do that than to dispute it and wait. If I get a claim after posting, I dispute it and usually the claim is released since my content falls within fair use. claims depend on the movie studio though. in my Barbie video, you'll see that most of the footage is behind the scenes clips bc Warner Bros is super strict. Whereas my videos on HBO shows are unedited bc they don't care for some reason 🤷‍♀️
