Continuity Pick and Roll Offense

Jerry Petitgoue is the Cuba City HS (WI) Head Boys Basketball Coach and has collected over 1000 career wins. Here he shows you an example of a quality pick and roll play. This offense gets every player involved and keeps them involved. Even from the base offense, there are many options that can be added, as Petitgoue demonstrates.

At first I was like this is too complicated and easy to defend on the first play, but when you start to see the flow of the offense, you begin to see so many more options, it gets better. Players need to study the options and believe they have options, so they relax more when running this offense. They seemed too robotic with it. It does take practice to make it work. On to the next video. Thanks

The only thing I don't like about this P&R continuity offense is that the ball screaner is always the same player, so the defense can easily guard it always in the same way according to the screaner's characteristics. Need some adjustment in order to involve different players on that play (in my opinion!)

Just don't reverse the ball every time. Also, start ball on different sides of the floor.

Zone does, it's about the movement you create. Let the Defense run while you invest less Energy in offenes by simply moving the ball

This is a great offense but needs to be added to another basketball offense. It does not stand alone very well. Guards too high to start and ruins the Centers pick.
