I absolutely adore the Océan highlighter. Is it an everyday type of illuminator? No. Is it a fun special occasion type of illuminator? Yes. I particularly like using it on my browbone and lightly dabbed on my moveable lid as a topper. It is so unique and so fun. When I want more of a statement, I also apply it to my cheekbones. I learned how to “master” loose sparkly pigments back in the day when I wore a number of products by Fyrinnae. Don’t brush them on; you’ll scatter the glitter. Press them on where you want the greatest concentration and then use a soft brush and a light hand to soften the edges (I use a silver fox brush). The result is springtime fantasy. A light spritz of your favorite setting spray (I use Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist) will keep the sparkles in place all day or evening). I realize that someone’s magic fairy dust is another person’s disco ball, but that’s the wonderful thing about the cosmetic industry-there are products to suit every esthetic.

I purchased the pink/orange quad and the mermaid glow stick. The stick is great! The eyeshadow I agree with you. You created a beautiful look with it but I think I’ll be using this as a accent to other palettes. It certainly doesn’t wow me, I have a purchase regret. And the lipsticks I love!!! Those color look great on you, I purchased 2&7, a night shade and a work shade!!

I bought almost all the new Chanel lipsticks. I kept revisiting the site and falling in love with another color and then another. The only ones I did not get is 00 and 02 since I didn’t think they were as unique as the others. But the packaging is perfect. ❤

I love the Allure Rogue Velvet. I bought 5 and 7. Can’t decide if I’ll buy another. They are a bit dark for me.

Hi Jennifer! Thank you very much for reviewing Chanel’s spring collection and the Nuit Blanche lipsticks. I really like Coral Treasure’s fresh summery look on you. The Blue Abyss eyeliner is very pretty - I wish it were not limited edition. I passed on the blush as I purchased both pink shades from the Winter Glow collection. I also passed on the Mermaid glow balm as it is way too glittery. I am surprised that, on my screen, I cannot detect the Lumière de l’ocean highlighter on you. I went to my local Chanel counter and my SA applied a tiny amount on my cheekbones - and when I checked the effect outside, in daylight, it looked like I had applied multicolor glitter all over my cheeks - way too fairy-dusty and theatrical. BTW, the highlighter looks identical to the special duochrome shade in PML’s Subliminal palette (the Blue 10-pan palette). I am curious to know how you managed to make the highlighter look so subtle? I purchased the #7 Nuit Blanche lip shade as well as the laque in Seashell - I am relatively happy with both but I would probably not repurchase either. I am now hoping the new TF lipsticks arrive soon in Canada - and I look forward to your review of the WA lipstick you ordered. I wonder how the WA formula compares with Merit’s new matte formula (which is garnering very positive reviews on the Sephora website). Thanks again and have a great day.

I have the 06:00 for anyone wondering: I am light skinned with cool undertones, and lips that are purplish. Mauves look very nice on me. The 06:00 is stunning on. It's more like an elevated neutral. The cool undertones really come out. The formula is very comfortable, as well. The sales associate and I were comparing how it looks based on undertone, she is more medium with warm undertones. 06:00 was not her favorite of the collection. We were both pretty blown away how different it was on the both of us.

Not sure if it was this video or the previous one I watched but you mentioned that you wished Chanel had a blue mascara. Well, they do. I just found it on their website site. I just ordered it so we’ll see. I’ve never used anything but dark brown on my lashes. I used to be a natural blonde, followed by years of highlights, but during lockdown I let my hair go natural. Now it’s dark blond with gray highlights. Looks like I had it professionally done. I could have saved myself thousands of dollars if I had only known it wouldn’t be a dull ugly gray. I have blue eyes. So I think the mascara will be pretty with the Rivage shadow palette. The new blue liner is already sold out

Am definitely interested in a further review of the Chanel lipsticks❤I have just received 00 and 07 am loving the red as it is much more muted on my skin tone so more wearable for me being light skin colour with neutral leaning warm golden undertones. The light pink when swatched is very unlike the normal velvet formula it seems to be more glossy and less pigmented but settles and gives good coverage on the lips very pretty if that makes sense 😊

Hi Jen, I skipped both eyeshadow quads because the pink/orange one I don’t like it and the blue one I know I will not wear too often to justify the purchase. I prefer the Hermes blue quad which I have it. The blush is not something I really need. It’s ok but not special and I already have similar colours. I don’t wear highlighter and I don’t understand this type of product and why people consider you need to make your cheeks look shiny. Not for me but is good for makeup brands that can get more money from customers with such an unnecessary product. I got one of the limited edition lipstick - 07 and I love the colour and the white packaging. The other colours are too dark/strong for me. I saw reviews with Westman Atelier lipsticks and they are a big no for me. They are very dry and the brand recommend to exfoliate your lips and put a lip balm before applying the lipstick. Seriously?🤣🤣🤣 Plus the packaging is very bulky. Sonia G brushes are very nice but I am not keen to spend another $340 or so (Australian dollars) for 4 brushes when I don’t actually need them. In the last few months I bought 4 brushes from Fundamental set and the holiday ones. I think I have around 35-40 eye brushes (mostly from Sonia G) and only 2 eyes. 😁 Also lately I invested in Rae Morris face brushes which are phenomenally good and nobody talks about them because no free PR like BK beauty or Rephr. Thanks for sharing!🙂

The addition of the coral palette allows for more inclusivity. The brown shade in the Rivage palette won’t show up on anyone deeper than a tan skin tone.

Blue lip liner is gone also.

Jen, this collection to me was a bit all over the place. As much as I love Chanel, I feel that they failed in putting together a cohesive collection. I like to see a collection that matches all other products released, such as Suqqu, yet this from Chanel does not. The products I felt were quite nice were the Éclat de Nuit & Rivage Quads, Highlighter, Baume Essential in Mermaid Glow, Nail Polish, Eye-Liner and even the Lipsticks. The pink/orange Quad, in my opinion, was the ugliest Quad I've ever seen that Chanel has released. They put no thought into it and assumed everyone would simply buy it due to being the latest from Chanel. I simply cannot mix orange and pinks together on the eye - they just don't work well together. Individually, they're all nice shades, yet together, they weren't meant to be. The Highlighter was right up my alley. I love a highlighter that contains some subtle shift of colour. I'm an admirer of the Baume Essentials and Mermaid Glow was one that could be used all over the face, which is my pre-exquisite for a Baume Essential, or else it's a waste. The Nail Polish in Blue was one I had to fight with myself not to purchase during my 'low-buy with exceptions'. The Cobalt Eye-Liner was a necessity to go with the Rivage Quad, yet I already had a kajal liner from Shiseido in that shade. The Rivage Quad was nice but nothing new that we wouldn't have in our collections already. Éclat de Nuit was a beautiful, classy Quad, especially for going out at night. My feelings about that pink/orange thing have been stated already as ugly. It looks as if it was just thrown together without any thought and did not match the rest of the collection. The reason that I don't go anywhere near Victoria Beckham is because she doesn't place dividers between shades in the one palette. That's simply not acceptable to me. With Chanel adding two lovely blush shades in the one palette without a very cheaply made divider turned me right off. I'll mix shades when I feel like doing so, not when dictated to me by the brand. It was only yesterday that my Highlighter and Baume Essential arrived. Yes, I fell off the wagon but for products I believe were worth it and not just a flippant buy. When I applied the Highlighter, it appeared blue when looking in one direction and pink in the other. It intrigued me. I can't wait to use it on the eyes! From Chanel I have two Baume Essentials, gold and lilac. I have an opal shade from Dior's rare foray into this product and the Brûlée from WA which I use as blush. I felt that the lovely softness of the Mermaid Glow balanced out the shades I had already. I do like the look on the Chanel website that shows a model wearing the Rivage Quad ever so gently, with the cobalt liner used all around the eye. I do feel that cobalt liner is needed to even out how very light the Rivage pale blue shadow is. I don't have an issue with the Prada blue as the shades around it balance it out. The Rivage doesn't have anything to tone down the brightness of the blue shade and gives me nightmares of the 70s, even though still very young. Personally, I would have cut that pink/orange Quad and the split blush from the collection altogether, giving it back its balance. Well, that's my opinion about the release, for what it is.
