5 жыл бұрынYou went and tailored your dress shirt to fit better than that baggy mess that you had before, but there's still a problem. Every manufacturer uses those ugly white dress shirt buttons. I get it, they're cheap, but they're also ugly. Why don't we change them to something more stylish like wood? All you need is a seam ripper, some new wood buttons which I got from Walmart, and a needle and some thread. Spend about 20 minutes cutting the old buttons off and sewing on the new ones. Boom, now you have a shirt that not only fits you perfectly but it also has buttons that no one else has on their shirt!

Funk!ng hate them white/clear pladtic bittons. This is the first only video I needed to convince and show me how to flip my dozen shirts... and then I clicked the link to tailor. Heckums! Thank you!

So first, I tailored my first T-shirt AND Dress Shirt today thanks to you! It was actually really cool and while I didn't do everything right, it still looks better. Second! Any measurement tips to ensure best fit???? I'm a male with broad shoulders, a wide chest that cuts down V like, and a small waist with a muffin top gut. That build has me shaped weird when I try to tailor my shirt in and I don't know how to measure a taper fit without turning into the muffin man.

Can I give you a small sewing tip for buttons? If you lift the button slightly while you sew it on and in the end circle the thread around the small "stem" you have created by the distance, you make it easier to button it up in the end. If you sew the button too tight, it might create a strain on the fabric. Just a small tweak which can make a huge difference. By the way, I LOVE you channel - I think you will inspire a whole bunch of newbies to get creative and that's just plain awesome!

You can even place a toothpick or a match under the button while you sew to help create the perfect distance. Simple but efficient!

Just throwing a suggestion on a future video on putting buttons on with a sewing machine its takes all the headache from doing it by hand .Just learned its possible and its so much faster

@@StylishDTailors I went the metal route for my vest. Added 5 metal semi-shiny button and now there's a bit of weight to it. Gives me the illusion/placebo of a higher quality vest, even though I got it for only 12 bucks lol. But hey, it's gray now so it matches like a billion of my other attire ha

Thanks for the kind words! And I would say its mostly down to branding to be honest. Until very recently my channel was kind of all over the place...finally cleaned everything up!

@2 mind. Some 1000 sandpaper on 2 sides makes a button slightly smaller.

Wait but isnt the rule with buttons is it’s supposed to matchy your shirt fambric not distract from it so doesnt brown contrast or am i missing something ive only seen brown button on aloha shirts unless the button was matching the fabric

Yea i think that shirt only work if you wear something that matches the bottons because the bottons dont match the shirt i see why there is a tailoring rule on this type of stuff 4:14
