I made some dumb mistakes when I learned how to tailor my own clothes, and hopefully I can help you avoid doing the same! The first one is starting in the first place, because nothing boosted my confidence more than wearing fitted clothes, nothing!

There is tailors, professional seamstresses and on and on explaining shit on the internet all day. But I have to say, you are the best. You make sense of this and I appreciate that. The old lady gave me her old machine and I am having a blast.

Read your sewing machine manual too (and test on a piece of cloth first) ! I didn't understand half the stuff you were talking about until I read the manual of my mother's machine. Now it's a breeze! Sewing/"tailoring" is a skill every man should know!

I feel exactly like you described me in the beginning lol, I shop at thrift stores most of the time cus. . . money. and ive always thought it sucked that i was only able to find one shirt at a time that fit me. Well now im gonna try to make some shirts i really like fit me, and your tutorials were the best ones on all of youtube!

I totally relate. My biggest mistake was buying a bunch of shirts to learn and then tailoring them before throwing them in the wash. All too small now!!

Congrats Dad, you have a incredible channel and i'm watching all your videos. (yeah, thanks to YOU i became addict in tailor my clothes ) But my question is, do you plan to do a video teaching how to tailor a blazer?? (I bought a few of then at a vintage store *-*)

SD lol mannnn I feel that so much,when you say it is an addiction i started out only needing to patch a hole in my jeans. N now its so hard to beleive that it literally became addicting to the point where when my old machine broke before i bought my new baby now 😂 😂😭my Brother st371hd, i was like "omg wtf am i going to do i can't wear those clothes like that right out of Walmart" i can't wear that until i fix it. People are like "umm you ok bro just wear them, NOBODY UNDERSTOOD lol i just can't i have to find a new machine like asap.. Now I literally have to tailor ALL of my clothes.. Like every single thing i have, If not i feel totally awkward wearing them.. It is so crazy how you can become addicted to something like that. So everytime you say that I'm like "damn i can totally relate to that"

taylored my first shirt today with your tips, it is fit, very cool but i did it too fit and since covid lockdown I'm fat so.. ya :D do you have video what to do if we want to keep our t-shirt but we took weight lol

… sew a strip of fabric at side seam ie a black (solid) colour -would streamline your silhouette. Best from Jill.

@@StylishDTailors I watched a bunch more that are more recent and they are already better, also maybe do some more start to finish projects like you did before, I found it easiest to just follow along with that after watching both that and the step by step guide. Great videos, changed my life, lololol I'm 6'1", slim, and absolutely hate fat pants and shirts
