They don't remember the changes because they didn't have any protective shielding during the flashes. If Starlight Glimmer hadn't shielded Twilight and herself, they both would have been changed. So due to Starlight and Twilight being shielded during the corrective magical flash, they are the only ones who remember the alternate reality.

This reality does not have a Derpy. Neither a Twilight or Starlight (and their "accesories" [Castle & School]). -> This is why they (sans maybe Rarity) did not even considered remaining in this reality (a world without Derpy is as bad as the Ashlands Bad Future).

That process with the crystals accidentally take both Twilight Sparkle and Starlight Glimmer to an alternate reality where the Elements of Harmony have not yet been obtained, and yet Equestria hasn’t fallen into ruins, and as for the remaining Mane 6: -Pinkie Pie’s destiny is to be eternally sad -Rarity is a book worm -Rainbow Dash is an earth pony that wishes to be a Pegasi -Apple Jack’s size and sex has been switched with Big Macintosh -As for Flutter Shy-, well... It was actually BigMac (Applejack just switched color schemes, as indicated by their cutiemarks). -> He always had the same "potential" to be an Element of Harmony like her sister.

@@EvilPaladin11 They usually have to either allow teleportation to happen, or being unconcious (Twilight got "teleported away" by Rarity because she was being too nice). I assume whoever they took (either R63!Applejack or color_swapped!BigMac instantly understood everything that happened previously (by "experiencing" the last minutes of memories of the original Applejack). So "he" would allow for things to go back to how they were originally.

@@adolfodef There's some presidence for them being able to teleport people away without their express permission. Like in Ticket Master, when Twilight and Spike are cornered by random ponies offering favors in exchange for tickets to the gala, Twilight spontaneously teleports away with Spike in tow. Spike says, "warn me next time" when they appear in the tree library (RIP The tree library). Starlight and Twilight have teleported unwarned "passengers" at various times since then. Chrysalis certainly didn't ask permission when she dragged Cadence and Twilight into the subterranean crystal caves. Twilight didn't want to get teleported away. Hence her irritated expression.

@@adolfodef I would assume that Big Mac would raise the point that they would need AJ to get things properly in the right place. His expression kinda indicated that he hadn't finished processing what he saw, before getting teleported out by the pair of purple unicorns.

@Dead Archer I know right? She had to win Fluttershy's trust the old fashioned way. She couldn't just like, touch a hoof to her chest and restore memories like Twilight did. Starlight actually earned Fluttershy's friendship. I still love Nerdy Shy and her adorkable hobbies
