The standard should not be "will people notice" but rather "will I be annoyed about this forever". The 90-10 concept is relatable in that the last 10% of a project will take you 90% of the time. I feel this so hard. The last “perceived 10%” of the work takes SOOOOO long. Is this just me? Happy to finally push this “Linear” artwork over the finish line. The final details matter.
Hope you like it.
Heads up: Be sure to always ask artists if the designs their selling is their original design. All the designs you see on my socials / website are created through my own toiling and frustrations. I do not sell VECTOR files nor do I recreate other artists' designs. If you come across my work being sold from another vendor, let me know as it is stolen work. I see my stolen designs all over the place and it is a bummer.
Common questions:
What is it?
Haha - fair enough - it is wall art, wall decor. Simply for your eyes enjoyment.
Do you sell vectors?
Nope, sorry.
Can I buy one of your "sold out" runs?
Sorry, once a design is retired, we'll never make it again. We "break the mold".
Do you do commission work?
Not much anymore. Sometimes we can do simple modifications to existing runs such as color.
What is it made from?
Almost all of my artwork is made from 12 layers of thin, 1/8th inch (3mm) plywood.
Where do you get your plywood?
We buy a full pallet of plywood at a time from a local plywood wholesale supplier in order to keep costs down.
What program do you use?
I just use illustrator as that was the program that I knew best prior to using laser cutters.
What is that board you are designing on?
It is a laptop connected to an old, outdated wacom tablet along with a full keyboard. I built the “box” in order to be able to easily transport the entire setup easily (with all cords, adapters, plugs). Less time setting up means more time working.
What machine do you use?
I use a boss machine. However, I have never used a different machine so I have no idea how it holds up to other companies. We have fixed/replaced an insane number of parts over the last 7 years but again, I don’t know how that compares.
