Good fix Wayn. At work, we're told to replace the fixture if the ballast goes because they actually cost more than the entire fixture. 2022.

Fortunately it was only the switch I replaced.

I have to do this for my lights in the garage. Thanks for the video

I had to use the old nut that holds the switch on because of the grove that lets it fit on the cover.

Great idea to take the fitting down, so much nicer working on it on the bench. Good job on the switch replacement

Not shown in the video was all the time I spent trying to figure out how to take the cover off.

That's the magic of editing. This repair was pretty difficult and a learning curve. LOL

I've never liked pull switches....For the average person this type of fix may be difficult or impossible if you can't find the right switch......Most folks don't want to spend the time messing with things anymore.....This is a disposable society.....Now I fix a lot gadgets but sometimes I don't feel like fixing anything.....So I get a new one that is less likely to fail and go on down the road!!

Yes a lot of people would not deal with it. Just buy a new one. When I am at work I do this many times a day. I am the guy that picks up a fan or lawnmower left on the curb and take it home to see if it is an easy repair. LOL

Does it matter which wire goes to?Which one cause I wired?Mine up, plugged it in and it blew the circuit.Don't know why

Posted from a LED source. yes, LED lights have polarity because they are diodes, that only allow electrical current to flow one direction. The positive side of the LED is called the anode, and the negative side is called the cathode. For one to work, it needs to be connected to a voltage source with that has correct polarity. If the polarity is reversed, the LED won't light up.
