First off, this is not a how to video. The is only my personal video on how I changed my spark plugs.
This is my first time changing out my spark plugs on my 2006 Hyundai Tiburon V6 engine. My car has around 81k miles. According to owners manual spark plugs are to be changed out every 30k for regular spark plugs and 60k for iridium ones. I bought my car with 17k on it and I'm not sure if they have ever been changed out, if so it's time to have them replaced anyways. Also according to the owners manual it's recommended for a Hyundai dealer to do this on a V6 engine but I thought I could manage with my under par mechanical skills.
The total cost for the materials was around $100. That's including 6 Bosch platinum iridium spark plugs, Bosch spark plug wires, anti-seize, di-electric grease, pcv valve, and some pliers I didn't have. I heard mechanic shops will charge around $300 for this and that's not including premium parts as I used. I already had the tools that I have bought years ago not included in the price.
This was a semi difficult project for me. It took me a good 6 hours to finish everything since it was my first time and I normally work in a slow diligent process to begin with but I enjoy learning things for myself. Overall I'm glad I did this by myself and hope other can learn from this and do it themselves as well.
