In Minnesota on a road trip and my water pump failed. I had to change the pump with no tools, limited money and in a parking lot. Let me know what you think.

Big thanks for this. For some reason, your video image is reversed, so it looks like you have a right-hand drive truck and bolts are now righty-loosy, lefty-tighty [LOL] After I figured that out, this video provided me with the incentive to go ahead and tackle this myself. I do turn my own wrenches normally, but getting older now and less motivated to do some of these kind of jobs. The RAM 3.7 is fairly easy to work on, especially in this case. Love that this doesn't even involve messing with any of the hoses! Watching this made me realize that I do NOT have to spend $$$ to have some garage do this for me. Thanks again!

Yeah, been a while since this video was made. Glad it helped. Have new cameras now.

@@CousinCleatus - job went slick! Nice to have a breaker bar for the stubborn bolts and air ratchet for faster bolt removal/install. You did well for the limited tools you had!

Interesting video thanks! I wish I was this capable with repairs, I usually just end up at a garage waiting for someone else to fix problems! :)

Bolts are different sizes, place bolts in new water pump in same position as you remove each one from the old pump.

Sounds like a plan

Just happened to my father's truck, at least the 3.7 in the ram gives you a ton of room to work.
@CousinCleatus3 жыл бұрын
Yeah there is plenty of room and it's not too hard to do.

It does I stood on the cross member at the bottom to change the plugs in mine so I don't have to lean over and my legs dangle

Alease you can get to your pump. On my Ford 3.7 the pump is inside the engine runs off the timing chain. 1250 to 2000 dollars to replace.

Oh that would not be fun.

Did you not have to drain the radiator
@CousinCleatus2 жыл бұрын
You would, but this one poured all over the street while driving. That's why this one was done on the side of the road.

It seem as if you were tightening the bolts .

I took the video with my phone and it was propped up. I guess the older phone did not auto rotate, or I had it turned off. So it was upside down and I flipped the video when I uploaded it.

@@CousinCleatus yes after i commented i saw the master cylinder on the left when it is on the right . I have the same motor in my ram . I seem to have the same luck as you . But i keep on going like you . Racked knuckles and bleeding but i get there . Oh and by the way my last two malfunctions has been my radiator clamps Rust and break in the middle of nowhere. So go to a plumbing section and get 4 real clamps for the future. Thanks for responding .

You were tightening and not loosening.....that’s why you were breaking tools

No video was upside down. Had the phone upside down. You are the first to see that though.
