Small side note - To be clear this is not about whether I think any restrictions have been correct or not, let's not start that discussion here. I must say your videos have improved greatly and I’ve enjoyed watching your channel grow. I own a BF XR6 and pretty much every repair that I’ve done to the car have been from watching your video and I gotta say thank you, it’s good blokes like you who show people how to do these things rather then taking it to a mechanic who charge a arm and a leg. Looking forward to future content, keep up the good work mate 👍🏽👍🏽

Thanks mate, they're still far from perfect but I've worked pretty hard on making them what they are so far. Honestly I'm shocked and getting a real kick out of hearing from guys like yourself that are following along and having some fun doing the work themselves - I started doing this cause I'm trying to make the videos I wanted to watch but couldn't find. And often I'm learning right there along with you! Thanks again for the support mate 👍

Turbo is coming, manual may be on the cards in the future. If only it was as simple as some of the earlier Falcons!

Great update Browney - Nice big backyard too! I think a lot of the Barra brigade will get great value in seeing the dyno and bum dyno results of each modification to assess if its worth it or not. The tune will be interesting for sure, but adding boost will really bring this thing to life! Well done donating your takings to Beyond Blue too - the lockdown in metro Melbourne sure is testing the mental health of a lot of people 👍 Cheers again for the plugs on your socials too mate!

Thanks mate. The NA series has been a lot of fun, surprised more people covered it. Hanging for tune results now, and the turbo is sitting behind me now as I type this just itching to go as well. Hopefully can get it down the track in a reasonable time frame to finish things off properly, be a shame not to now. All good on the plug just hope it's helped mate, I know I've been enjoying the videos 👍

Woooohoooo! finally boosting ;)! Also, be mindful BA motors have skinny rods, so don't be surprised you wont be able to push heaps of boost in, if anything i'd recommend a BF Gas motor, or FG NA motor if you want to do it on the cheap! -- Also use a electronic boost controller and solenoid for better control of the boost :) -- End of the day, have fun while doing it, :D

Thanks mate. All over the skinny rods issue but I think we can still run a setup that will be plenty of fun without pulling the engine. And as much as those later engine are a great option, it's only a matter of time before they're not a 'cheap' option at all and it's already happening! See how we go 👍

@@BrowneysGarage The stock boost (controlled by ECU tops out around 10psi before the ecu fuel cuts you) Coupled with skinny rods and more importantly weak valve springs. Bad news for serious builders but for people like me (first turbo car) the BA's are good for around 300rwkw in standard form before you need to open the motor up and fix the outlined issues. From there its all about bigger turbos, injectors and fuel pumps. I cant be arsed with all that so im just building a 300kw car out of a BA 2003 240T that i got cheap. Ive only done turbo side intake bigger cooler and 2.5'" hot and cold side hard piping and it already hits harder than stock. So, now all my bolt on mods are done, all I have left is to get bigger injectors and a tune. I should see around 300rw give or take im told. Well worth doing as all the bolt ons were just under $1000.

@@chris929rr7 Sounds like our thinking on this is pretty similar mate. 300rwkw should make it a heap of fun without having to go over board, hope you enjoy and that I can get up to somewhere closer to those figures soon. Big respect for your donation. I think the NA to turbo conversions are going to br a big thing in thr future as the costs of factory turbos start to climb as they already are. A couple youtube channels-Ross Holland and Old Skook Only Garage recently turboed their na ba falcons with good results as well-about 260rwkw which was a conservative tune to let the BTR survive. The na motor itself is capable of a lot more. The issues tend to come from gearbox/diff/tailshafts but thats not an issue for low boost-5-9psi.

Thanks Luke. Pretty well my thoughts there too mate. Turbo cars are starting to fetch crazy money already and as long as people keep upgrading them then the stock parts can continue to be had for conversions at decent prices - at least I hope so! I don't think the NA motor is quite as fragile as some would make it out to be either, from memory Scotty at Street Machine pulled some good power out of one before leaning on it too hard. Even at that sub 10psi boost level though it should be a nice, fairly reliable upgrade that's fun on the street. We'll find out anyway!

@@BrowneysGarage Exactly right. Scotty got it to 530hp before blowing it up. Pretty impressive figures from a $200 engine. If its tuned correctly the weaker rods and higher comp means nothing, it can still be perfectly reliable. If you ever did wanna replace the motor, the fg na motor is a brilliant cheap option. Its proven to be bulletproof up to 500rwkw.

Hey Browney 👍 we have been found all the mods along with you on my sons ba n/a xr6. Having a great time just got the lsd to go I just found for $250. Can’t wait for your synopsis and track tests!! We’ve got heaps more power over here with the mods so far! Ours is manual so even more fun. What’s next? Cams? We’re keen!

you should do a vid on installing the fpv oil temp and oil pressure gauges from the gt :) or coz your turboing it do the f6 oil temp and boost gauges from fpv

Good on mate thats awsome donating what you can but browney did you know not all ba xr6 n/a front bumper has the single hole behind the lisence plate but the hole for the 10mm bolt is a no show ,someone at ford might of been knock off time and thought she'll be right

Great stuff Browney! Nice to know what you have in the pipe line. Looking forward to those episodes when they come up. Props to you for your donation/s. Great idea for a great cause too. Have you considered putting together a "Wish list" for parts or tools? It's clear you are a "one man show" and you are paying out of your own pocket with the mods you have been performing. Some people don't always like contributing cash/payment but they may be prepared to send you parts or a tool to help you get a future job done. Is that a helpful suggestion? Looking forward to your next videos and I honestly hope your channel grows. All the best.

Hey Glen, thanks for your ongoing support mate. I hadn't considered it and to be honest I'm not sure how I'd go with it - even suggesting people donate doesn't sit with me that well and it's not for me! It is a great suggestion though, especially like you say having contributions other than just cash and could be something fun to give more interaction as well so I'll have to consider it for the future. Would probably need to set up a PO Box or something as well for it I guess. We'll keep plugging away with videos though, especially when people like yourself keep coming back. Thanks mate 👍

@@BrowneysGarage don't be shy in asking. The worst is no response. There are other channels that have no pride and ask for alsorts of stuff and they don't spend anywhere near the coin you have so far. I won't name, names but I know of someone who got a XY GTHO Replica built and didn't pay a cent of their own money. They put their hand out and people and companies contributed. I was shocked at how blatant they were. That's at the most extreme level. Merch is a popular thing too. Get that P.O. Box anyway. They're not expensive.

I know personally I never have any dramas with others promoting merch/Patreon/other forms of income as long there's no requirement for it, when videos and content stay free but support is welcomed. Good news and bad here, I don't expect we'll do this all again with an FG any time soon because they are just so similar to the BA. The good news is though that this means what we've done will be the same or similar for an FG, only with even better results!

Hey there! My BA Falcon had a broken aircon mix shaft that my old man and I got working again with a bulldog clip and some wire. Would be keen to tell you the method if you want to make a vid on it. Usually an expensive fix and haven't seen anyone do this method before.
