Can't wait! I am a subscriber from Malaysia and owner of a Proton-badged car with the Renault D4F engine. Your throttle body cleaning video gave me the confidence to do the job and now the car is breathing so effortlessly 😄

Had a squeak noise coming from steering on clio campus. Initially thought rubber bush on the firewall or universal joints on the column. Greased & checked joint for smooth movement. Listened with stethoscope. It was actually in the rack itself. Full lock each way, I pulled back the gaiters & rubbed silicone grease on the shaft & refitted them. No more squeak.

Really looking forward for those vids! Today I just changed the rear left wheel bearing and 2 weeks ago xenon bulbs on my clio 2. It's now around 190k kms and still going.

This Clio is counting miles so we are on 183k kms, not to far behind you. The Clio 2s do seem to be aging really well. The D4F engine seems to fair up well in later life too.

Just got my 2003 1.2 dynamic back on the road. These videos are very useful. Need to sort the tdc sensor out though as she won’t start.

TDC sensor... that is another video I need to do. Such a common problem on these.

Just restored the headlights on my Citroen c1. Used Sealey HRK 01, with cordless drill, then clear coat. It's a great set for only £11. People thought the 'uv sealer' was greasy, hence I just used 3 layers of clear coat. It's not crystal clear, but still a remarkable difference. I took photos beforehand.

Good result. I will definitely be using a drill kit next time.

Must say ive watched most of your videos now and congratulations on your superb explanations and content. Im about to embark on the dreaded throttle Petentiometer intermittent fault....I've tried cleaning all the contacts next comes thd pedal change and then try to find where the loom goes etc....any tips of where the loom goes through the bay etc are greatly received. (Mk3 2006 clio) the car runs fine when working will run for days then just out of the blue shows engine fault service light and the electrical fault light. Clean contacts not workkng leave over night, try start and it works again. Rather annoying. Anyway any tips or advice greatly appreciated. Good luck with the new videos im sure they will be great! New sub here....

Thankyou for the support. On the MK3 I must say I'm not entirely sure. It will come into the bay from the bulkhead and then to the ECU. Best to get the codes and watch the pedal tracks as live data if you can so you can see what the ECU is seeing.

Looking forward to more uploads! I changed the temp sensor on the D4F722 (near the thermostat) .. When I installed the new sensor I think the threads stripped slightly .. this has me worried that it might leak. Is it going into plastic? I didn't get a good look if it's part of the thermostat housing or not. Thanks
@SocketsAndSideburns2 жыл бұрын
If I remember right its left of the stat housing and goes into the cylinder head so aluminium. Pretty sure they have a seal on them and as long as that has seated and its tight enough to not work loose I would think you will be fine.
@farerse2 жыл бұрын
@@SocketsAndSideburns thanks for replying, it is leaking :( have to go in with sealant or thread repair .. it uses a copper washer but it's not tight enough to seal.

Hallo, i really need some help, my Renault mk2 clio 1.2 16 v, has a rough idle almoust sounds like it's got a nasty cam... But when i give it a good rev it returns to normal idle.. Please help.
@SocketsAndSideburns2 жыл бұрын
Any other symptoms? There are many things it could be. What really helps in these situations is having a scan tool that can look at live data.

@@SocketsAndSideburns Hallo i trust you are well, seems i got an air leak on my intake. Thanks for the reply.

I just picked up an 05 1.2l 16v for peanuts. Has a hesitation and loss of power in all gears. If I shift up or down it disappears, if I put my foot flat to the floor it picks up/surges. Any ideas? I’ve done sparks and coil pack, throttle body is clean
@SocketsAndSideburns2 жыл бұрын
When you say if you put your foot flat to the floor it surges do you mean engine rpm or that the vehicle speed will increase?
@glosterboy242 жыл бұрын
@@SocketsAndSideburns the speed increases after a few seconds of putting my foot to the floor during a hesitation, if I shift up or down a gear during a hesitation it picks up then too.

Ah ok I just wanted to check you weren't getting any clutch slip. No codes or any other symptoms? What does it do if just left alone to idle? Places to start are ignition which you've done, and vacuum leaks. However when it comes and goes in the way you have described the very first thing I'd check is the Lambda sensor live data as the fault occurs. I've seen a few times where they get stuck and can cause this.
@glosterboy242 жыл бұрын
@@SocketsAndSideburns no codes coming up and it seems to idle ok. Just seems to hesitate on accelerating
@glosterboy242 жыл бұрын
@@SocketsAndSideburns I replaced the lambda sensor and now I seem to be running great! few more little jobs to do and I’ll be going in for an mot. Thanks for the instructional videos and thanks for getting back to me with advice.
