Way to go Tammy. This must have been the year for change and moving forward. I am with you. With covid I too did a lot of birding. I probably photographed at least 50 different birds from January until May within a twenty miles radios. So excited for you. Looking forward to seeing what happens next for you.

Yay, missed you! I had a similar journey with photography, starting out with macro and landscape and then “discovering” wildlife photography. There is no need to pigeonhole oneself. You got some great shots there 🤗. Welcome back, stay healthy & safe and hydrated! 👍🏼👏🏼

Thanks for the update Tammy , I am pleased you are well and have not caught this virus . I love capturing wildlife so I am pleased you are really enjoying your bird photography. It is always good to take a variety of subjects that way you can always find something. During lockdown I was very pleased to have our own garden to be able to capture images of birds and flowers . Birds are a wonderful subject but one that takes patience and then also speed . I thought the images you have captured so far look really nice . I look forward to seeing your videos . Take care :D Teddy

Hi Nice to see you back, gorgeous photos a specially birds in flight very difficult. I have been shooting landscapes and trying to improve when the virus shuts everything down. So i took up macro photography which i had not done for ages. So the back garden became my studio, found out iam slightly better at this than landscapes. I use to quite a lot of birding here in the uk, but photography took over. But I think you’re a natural at wildlife photography keep it up.😀

I think wildlife might be a good niche for you. Lovely bird shots. Looking to get a kayak for photography and my dog. You may need to do kayak reviews or tips and hints.

Glad to see you back - have been wondering how you’ve got on with the new Shimoda bag - really appreciate your reviews - the vast majority are from men of a very different size and shape to me! I’m wondering if the x30 is big enough for my mirrorless plus 100-400mm zoom.

Looking forward to all your new great stuff. There's a photographer down in my neck of the woods, Constance Mier, who has a KZfaq channel. She photographs almost exclusively from a canoe. She might have some tips on specific gear, and staying dry. Check it out. Glad you're back!

Well, welcome back Tammy ! We are in for hot weather this coming week and it was a mild winter ! Just the next county below me " Holmes " it's more open farm land and other than the set down type restaurants not much changed there. I did not find any trails closed. Good, macro photography is really interesting !

Tammmmmmmyyyyy! You're back! I kept wondering if you gave up YT altogether. Your bird images are stunning! I love my kayak too and moved next to a pond a few months ago. Lots of bird photos. But you have really put the effort in. So great to see you again. Kayaking, birding, and photography here we come! 🐾

"Nothing happening" - You guys really don't appreciate the opportunities you have. Bird photography here is limited to a handful of the most boring feathered friends you've ever seen. But anyway, congrats on the career-switch :-) One remark though: looking at your little slideshow I found myself saying out loud to the screen "stop cropping so much!" - Because that's what you do. Please try different crops, place the bird to the side, have more 'open space' in the direction it's looking at. You will find that having more of the surrounding will make the image stronger. I know this comes from macro photography where dead-center subjects are more rule than exception, but with birds you need more space. Really. Try it. And back-button focus: yeah, you absolutely need that for this type of photography. You'll be ready for the shot so much more often, causing less AF-misses. All in all: what you shot so far is absolutely good, don't overdo the post-sharpening and please... crop... less.. :-) Good luck Tammy, good to see you back online!

Thank you! The "nothing happening" was for macro and landscapes here in the winter time. I found out there are loads of bird to photograph during the winter months. I am new to this whole thing and I am still learning how to compose and shoot the birds I get. I call it a good day if I just get one good one of them lol. I don't sharpen my images in post at all and these images are both with my mirrorless camera and my Nikon D500. Some come out looking "strange" to me but I got a bird anyway. I have since figured out how to change my settings so they don't look like that now. I am still learning and I hope to get better shots in the coming months. Thanks for the tips.
