Why does a child have a room in the hospital when it's his dad who is sick? There's so many layers here.

Love the little touches.... They show his feet....someone in high heels and stockings walks by...they switch back up to a head shot and it's a guy walking by (?).... Dag takes the door handle with one hand out in the hallway, when he's in the room he's opening it with the other hand.... Lots of work went into this to make it so entertainingly "shitty"

I love that, for all the levels deep they go with Richard Ayoade's character, he just ends up playing Richard Ayoade... so he basically is just putting on the truth.

I love how rick just walks out through the 4th wall. It's the little things like that that make this so amazing.

Love the part about lending her money for coffee, when of course the break room coffee is free. It's a running joke that they keep "lending" Liz money for coffee.

It's like being in a robotic prison watching this. "Yes mum, I'll watch Dark Place again and remember all of the lines"

This has got to be one of the best comedies ever!!! Makes me cry laughing no matter how many times I watch it.

The scene splice at 2:07 is brilliant.

I have watched this series over, and over. Brilliant writing, and brilliant acting.

Garth Merenghi's Dark Place was what Doug Walkers DEMO REEL was trying to be but failed horribly.

there is a tendency to cut great shows while keeping mindless shit like all the soaps and bigbrother on air. it is very puzzling.

What is so funny about Thornton is that he seems to be the head of a hospital, but not a doctor or medical practitioner of any sort himself. He acts more like a frazzled middle-manager of a factory. Is Darkplace even on the NHS?

I remember this show. So, so funny. It's where I first see Richard Ayoade just before he went big with *"The IT Crowd."*

Maybe a blessing in disguise, kept it short and sweet.

Yes a quick rinse around the key areas isn't as good as a shower but it's a lot better than nothing if you're pushed for time I get that.

Haha...I first watched this when I was 13 and it confused me so much, I was like 'are these actors or are they just really bad actors?' Will need to watch it again.

Why this didn't take off with the Brits amazes me. This was a hilarious series, great concept, but it ended too soon.
