Almost bought these on Amazon, but went with the Wera demo drivers because of all the different size options available. The 10 inch Wera demo driver is soo beefy. I mostly use it for prying instead of actual fasteners, but putting a T-handle on the back looks like it would come in handy.

Yeah, interestingly Channellock doesn't currently have a standard set of striking cap drivers...just this set with the 1/4" drive end. Wera has a very large selection of chisel drivers. I've yet to break the little Wera chisel driver I have at work.

Thanks for the overview! Those drivers look great and robust. Can't argue with the price for an all the way US product. I agree with you about wanting a proper hex bolster. But since the shafts are bar stock, Mayhew might have thought it would be a redundancy of sorts. Not sure. Anyway, I might pick these up!

Thanks for watching...yeah, the price is probably the hardest part to believe. It is more in line with what you would pay for bargain basement import junk. Can't go wrong with a quality set of beater screwdrivers at this price!

I don't think I've made a video on the Mayhew yet, but I've got one...couple of things that set it apart from the Channellock. Glad to hear they have held up well!

Related...but not. I've got a few months of use out of the regular Mayhew made Channellock Screwdrivers and I have to say I am pretty impressed. They have become my go to "Oh, I need a screwdriver" screwdrivers in the shop. Sure, if I have a lot of screws to deal with or something fiddly I still turn to my PB Swiss stuff, but for one off/random stuff here and there they have replaced the Heyco's I picked up from KC Tool a few years ago.

Nice, glad to hear you are liking them! And they are almost your ideal color, lol. That is also good variety between the (3). Heyco for an old school, smooth finish, PB Swiss for a soft finish, and Channellock kind of in the middle for both feel and ergonomics.

I have the Wera set aside for testing so I can't really comment on how either would hold up, but that is a potential concern with the design...I'd imagine it would still catch for awhile, but would likely become more and more loose before possibly, eventually failing to hold.

@@lonestarmopars I imagine it won't be loose but fail to seat because the edges of the square profile will be marred up. I think it's a great idea for a non impact screwdriver, but the combination seems a bit off.
