its a shame he never made a new robot after chaos 2 he was on of the best drivers, was hoping to see him when the series was rebooted

@@fabiobertiph2671 George was part of the health and safety team for the following series. So he couldn't compete, he did the safety checks of machines when they entered.

George francis attempted to build a robot for battlebots after robotwars classic series but the robot was never finished sadly

The robots had gotten too destructive by the time they did the reboot, and because of the damage robots like Carbide could do. Competing became prohibitively expensive, which is one of the main reasons the reboot didn't last long.

Chaos 2 is a good example on how far the sport came in 3 series going from untouchable *the robot to beat* to a good heat bot. They changed the game but didn't upgrade

I actually think they did upgrade the flipper after the fourth wars. That's why it would flip itself over more frequently when it flipped. It was still as light as it was but with a more powerful flipper so it just turned over.

would have been wise to increase the weight as well, rather than just increase the CO2 canister capacity. the failure to balance out the weight with the flipper power was its undoing.

Weight was increased, but not by enough. It went from 77kgs in its first fight to 84kgs in its last

Chaos 2 should of made the robot 100 kg for series 5 the weight would of kept chaos2 on the ground more when the flipper is fired

Chaos 2 certainly did very well when it won both the 3rd and 4th series. But I felt the robot reached its peak as soon as it went from Series 5 onwards.

If Crushtacean had the same pincers (stopping Chaos 2 from flipping them) but had a controllable 4 wheel drive set up in the body, it could have beaten Chaos 2 by getting them in the pit instead of going in itself.

Chaos 2 fought everything they could in Series 6 to win their title as UK Robot Wars Champions back. But it wasn't enough and suddenly they get thrown out of the arena by Dantomkia and later destroyed in the All Stars Tournament by Razer and 13 Black. Perhaps George Francis should've built a newly advanced successor to Chaos 2, if only he had the time and money to do so.

Chaos 2 slowly declined with each passing season It completely dominated series 3 It was still awesome in series 4 but less dominant, as stinger and pussycat gave it tough battles Extreme 1/series 5- some cracks were beginning to show, but nothing too bad Series 6- chaos 2 really struggled and was outclassed with 2/3 battles Extreme 2- it was outdated

I disagree that it was outdated. The flipper was overpowered by series six, and it became a liability. Its gas supply ran out much sooner, and the force would often turn Chaos 2 over. Quantity of flips was more important than quality. George should have stuck with the series four specifications.

No protection against horizontal blades, would likely struggle against the current crop of 'top' battle bots - flippers really need to be boxier and more rambot-y to survive it seems

Chaos 2's chassis was so damaged after the battle against 13 Black and Razer that George Francis couldn't afford to build a new one from scratch. Basically, Chaos 2 was not retired, it was killed by the deadly combo of Razer and 13 Black's attacks.
