Chaos Dwarfs in Age of Sigmar | What to Expect

With Age of Sigmar’s 4th Edition slowly making it’s way into view - or at least a growing anticipation of it is - I wanted to talk about one faction that has been getting quite a bit of attention in the old rumour-mill lately - and that’s Chaos Dwarfs - or Duardin as they’re known in Age of Sigmar.
But, even before we heard about that, whispers were weaving through social media that Chaos Duardin were set to come to Age of Sigmar as a fully formed faction, and in this video I want to talk a bit more about that, when that might happen, and what we could see should that come to pass.

Thanks for watching 😊 And I 100% agree - there’s a lot of cool things in Warcry, and all the smaller format games in fact, that I think gets missed by the wider community.

I think the horns of hashut design is really interesting. They give off a Minoan, ancient greek- like vibe. The aos factions are always really unique in comparison to other fantasy settings in my opinion, so i'm already curious how they will turn out!

100% agree - GW (thanks to modern sculpting and moulding) can do so much more with AoS than they ever could for Fantasy, and it really shows. I think the new Chaos Duardin will have a great look and feel. 😁

An interesting thing to explore would be a potential rivalry between Hashut and Vashtorr. They could be competing for dominion over the Chaos Duardins.

Interesting idea - they haven’t spoken much about smaller deities crossing between 40K and AoS but it’s a possibility 🤔

I'm not so sure GW would be keen on that now given how keen they are to separate different ranges (Old World and AoS).

Vashtorr doesn’t exist in AoS and I’d argue shouldn’t.

he should as Hashut is not an entity of industry or innovation like Vashtorr but fire, greed, and tyranny. He taught the Chaos Dwarfs magic and influences them to enslave and extort other races for money and resources but the actually industry of the CD is inherent dwarf skill that's been allowed to invent freely much like the current Khardron Overlords @@ImrahilToChaos

one of the minor main characters from Godeater's Son is an escaped chaos duardin thrall who uses the techniques stolen from his masters to craft badass prosthetics.

Why not use the two speculated factions in the same starter box? I know it sounds dumb since the Stormcast is the poster child for AoS, but it would give some variety and let other factions be tried for new players.

Honestly chaos dwarves in age of sigmar would make a lot of sense actually. They'd add a good counter to any dwarves in the forces of order. Hopefully they'd have some of the really fun artillery they used to have.

Some of the 3D printable models are freakin gorgeous! I'm about to build a 3D printed chaos dwarf army. Even if GW brings out new models and they don't go on backorder instantly, I'll be saving a bunch of money.

Honestly Chorfs even if not a full faction having a chaos warriors armed with Chorf blundeebusses would be dope. Also new Hobgrots that look cool and not goofy

I personally don't like age of sigma as a game. But I do quite like a number of models. And have no qualms buying them to play With Warhammer fantasy. I've always liked the Chaos dwarfs. But I was only able to buy a handful of them back in the day before they were discontinued. As such I am eagerly anticipating the Release Of chaos dwarfs In age of Sigma. So that I can buy them To expand my chaos dwarf army

There’s nothing but rumours right now, but a lot of expectation it’ll be in 4th edition. If I was to take a punt, I’d say Skaven will be the launch box refresh, and Chaos Duardin about two years in, so 2026 sometime. But, again, that’s just speculation.

I think mostly Skaven will be the big thing. I also think possibly Malekith\Malerion.

I really mixed feelings over most armies I had for fantasy fall under legends now, including chaos dwarves. Forge world range was amazing...but costly

Interesting stuff! Personally, I would prefer (Dark) Aelf / Druchii with Malekith as we have Fyreslayers, Kharadron Overlords, and the Dispossessed. I suspect the Cities of Sigmar /// Dispossessed in AoS and Dwarves in ToW will have cross comptability with Longbeards, Hammerers, Irondrakes, Ironbreakers, Gyrocopters, Gyrobombers, and so on. Sadly, Dark Elves / Druchii won't be in ToW 1st Edition. I think the best of possible worlds would be both the Chaos Dwarves /// Legion of Azgorh and Dark Aelves /// Druchii :))

We don’t need chorfs we have have enough dwarfs already. Remaster old models and add more to the lines that are lacking. 20 plus army’s is a lot to pick from.

I do have something against AoS (it has atrocious lore, very badly written and conceived). That said, the miniatures are often very nice and there's nothing stopping you using them for (real) Warhammer.
