Synopsis: Preparation required to airlift a Chaparral M54 launching station is illustrated in this film. Demonstrates how to prepare lifting shackles, clear access passages to the main bolts, remove blast shield, secure communication cable, use ropes to steady the platform and help guide it over the jackstands, rotate the turret and lock it into position, attach cargo slings, follow safety procedures using earplugs and goggles, and give proper hand signals to the Chinook pilot.
Purpose: Know demating of missile system from carrier; rigging for airlift; lifting, inflight safety, emplacement and removal of airlift kit. ASUBJSCD 44-16P10.
