Here it is: the final walk in the Central Fells region! Don't worry, there's going to be another 40 or so more videos in this Hiking the Wainwrights series....yay!
I can't think of a better route to follow to tackle the last 2 fells than this. It began with us traversing the coffin route from Rydal to Grasmere. We may or may not have had cake and coffee in Grasmere before setting off up the first fell: Silver How. The views back towards the Langdale Pikes and also towards Grasmere and Helvellyn were stunning. After a couple of tiny butties we set off for the final fell of the day and season: Loughrigg Fell. What a fell! Loughrigg is such a fascinating fell that really warrants a full day of exploration. After a senior's nap we headed to Rydal Cave to find the secret portal. Then it was on to the final pub of the season for a well earned pint after a long and muggy day in The Lakes.
Thank you so much for watching.

Another gift of a walk that we followed today when the cloud base was lowish but high enough to clear Loughrigg and Silver Howe. Sounds like a cuckoo at 4:41 but it was the wrong season. Unbelievably grateful to you, Glenn.

love it! And Dina is a great addition, she's so smiley and fun. On a couple of other channels we follow, adding other people to an individual persons channel (that you associate with just them infront of camera) can sometimes change the vibe of the vid but not in this instance, I think she was a great add. 👍🏻As always, a lovely vid and am also sad the season is over but will look forward to the next one. it gives us something to get excited for knowing it'll be on the way once the nights start drawing in so we can snuggle up, watch you and Finn and live vicariously through you until we get back up there again (why is June so faaaaar away!?) 😭

Just catching up on your latest video, excellent as always. Just got back from 5 days in a very, very wet Lake District ourselves. Didn't manage any high fells but walked through Allan Bank up to Easdale Tarn which we hadn't done before. Great walk & views. Spectacular waterfalls with all the rain, however Easdale Beck was misbehaving and made it's way across much of the lower footpath! Still had a great walk.

My head just shot straight to that Bryan Pringle ad, when ya were saying "Wawta ". and then " Naa, Luton Airpowt" with Lenoard Rossiter. Ca'nt remember lasses name, but she afaf too ! Adv a certain brand of "gassy pop", imo. PS my fav remains "High Street", popular i know, but vistas left and right, and when i was there, looking down, a 1000ft on "army helicopters" training", which is contractory in itself, but nevertheless, a spectacle.

This looks like a terrific walk Glenn. Any idea of the distance and rough estimate time to do this walk in? Including the obligatory coffee stop? 😄 I'm heading up to the Lakes on Wednesday for 4 days. Got 3 big high levels walks planned but need an alternative lower level walk if the weather isn't great. (Forecast currently isn't looking so favourable). This walk looks really pleasant and picturesque, with not too much high climbing. Wasn't really familiar with both Loughrigg and Silver How before. I'll definitely consider this route for our trip. Keep up the good work Glenn. Your channel brings me a lot of joy. Been watching for 2+ years now. You're the only person I subscribe to on KZfaq.
