I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier.

The woman who spoke early in this video could not be more wrong. Yes, as she said they were of "high privilege," but as for them having "high ideals," nothing could be further from the truth, and there is ZERO question of this. No person with "high ideals" would do what they did.

Very interesting, I enjoyed viewing this. I find it noteworthy that to avoid initial publicity, that the Leopold was initially questioned at a hotel, and not police headquarters, because of the status of their families in society. However, I am not certain if Loeb was questioned at a hotel, but I know that Leopold was. If my memory is correct, I think it was the LaSalle Hotel.

Good detective work. Clarance darrow! Decent Drama. Just a hint of sorrow.

How can I watch this whole thing? I can only find these previews.

Darrow took the case because he was a vehement opponent to the death penalty . Because he championed the "common man", everyone was surprised that he took on such wealthy clients. He answered that just as the poor deserved a compentent defense, so did the wealthy.

These guys were supposed to have been very intelligent, but they did things so carelessly and stupidly. Dropping the eyeglasses at the crime scene was very dumb, and they did a very poor job of hiding the body. It's amazing how quickly the entire thing unraveled on them.

I missed my calling as a detective I think,here's why: I assumed these men were gay lovers within 5 min- prior to it being stated. Now here is what PBS and society in the 1920s missed: the kidnapped boy, wasn't a stranger- he was a cousin (so they knew the boy, at least aware of him). So them killers lied that it was a random kidnapping. What was their reason...far more sinister and sadistic, I'd guess. I believe they did unspeakable sexual abuses, hence the reason for not only killing this poor boy, but acid washing evidence. Don't assume I'm gay bashing, I'm not, I'm not homophobic. It's a good thing that these 2 killers were stopped immediately though- who knows how many other boys might have met the same fate.
