I've been watching your video's for my summer semester as a way to study and review for class. My class also uses the mareib/Hoehn text book. I appreciate all this content, it has been very helpful.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that I found your channel. Bro, you break everything all the way down!!!! Where have you been all my life!!! My professor is good as well but he's very soft spoken and kind of dull, but you are awesome!!!!!!! Wow.....hopefully I'll get a better grade on my next test after listening to your videos. Do you teach Microbiology????????

You’re welcome! You did well in the class through hard work. I just talked a bit about the information but if it can inspire people to learn I’m happy for that.

Hi, I love the amazing videos and thank you a lot! They are informative. Is it for textbook Anatomy and Physiology (openstax)?
@WyzSci
@WyzSci 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Vivian! I think it is organized similarly to the openstax book. You could definitely use these videos to supplement the chapters from that book.

So in the cases of like drugs invested via digestive system as opposed to smoking them, are dosages just determined based of an average of livers inability to filter these substances?
@WyzSci
@WyzSci 2 жыл бұрын
Yes and there are multiple barriers to P.O. drug administration including: resistance to stomach pH, digestive enzymes, absorption, also the liver's ability to metabolize the drug. All of these would go into the dosage consideration. The effect of the liver on the G.I. absorbed drug is called first pass metabolism. Some drugs are activated when they are metabolized by the liver.

Why is the blood that is being sent to the liver rich in nutrients?

Thank you!! And thank you for these amazing videos
@Cass_i

Because blood from the small intestines go straight to the liver and so remember we just absorbed nutrients so the blood eill be rich in those nutrients
