Today I’m reading Chapter 5 from the first book in the series, The Numbers: Get in Order! Originally, each chapter within the book was intended to be a book by itself, aimed at younger children, until I decided to expand and upscale each story before putting them together (in order, of course) and creating The Numbers: Get in Order!
After designing number 5, I noticed he had a very flat head and, may I say it, a very round bottom! Looking at him I felt that 5 may not always be balanced. Originally, 5 carried shopping on his head, and every time he got overexcited or very upset, he would start to rock and lose his balance. Luckily, 5 knew how to take a deep breath and stay calm. That’s why he naturally became the next number to count on!
