@@countofarcadia Gundam was originally supposed to be called "Gunslinger boy Amuro," specifically because Newtype ppwers are Cowboy powers. Cowboy in the old western movies which are heavily centred on life in texa during the mid 1800's. Cowboy powers like deadeye and just sensing the exact position of hiden enemies the moment they project malicious intent toward the protagonist, those are based on Samurai lore of using the same powers so Amuro is a copy(Newtype) of a copy(Cowboy) of the Samurai, qhich is why Gundam has that Samurai mask for a head and carries two sword like Samurai would have.

That is not Amuro but a fake, just like DBS "Goku" is fake in face of true Goku. The real Amuro has brown eyes that slowly morph into a form of indigo between his initial Newtype Awakening against the black tri-stars in 0079 and his working for Londobell in 0093. Those seafoam green(or whatever shade of green and blue) eyse are not his true eye colour = false Amuro.

They've fleshed out that whole part of the UC timeline (at least for me), I think they've done a pretty good job telling a cohesive story from 0079 all the way to Char's Counterattack, or some could even say up to Narrative

The way I've always seen it Char enters a dark nihilistic period after his father's death. 0079 makes it clear for a long while he didn't really believe in his father's own principles of Newtypes Individuality, he only really saw them as mere cannon fodder until he met lalah and to an extent Amuro. Zeta Char is much more filled with determination to follow and fulfill his father's ideals after not only realizing Newtypes true potential as a evolution for humanity, and wanting to achieve total freedom for the spacenoids from Zabi And Haman Autocratic rule After Zeta with Kamilles Mental Breakdown, Char goes through yet another pessimistic phase of his life, especially when the AEUG sides itself with the Federation and continues to use Newtypes as a cannon fodder (Young ones at that). By Chars Counterattack, while Char does want to fulfill his father's wishes, he has a new "Pragmatic" way of getting Humans out of the Earth, which is to have a iceage drive humanity out of the earth and evolve. He no longer believes Humanity can willfully understand their situation and decides to shoulder the guilt of being the man that sentences half of humanity to death (The impact alone of Axis would very well kill a good chunk of Humanity) and the other as displaced people's sent out into space. Char at the end of all this really is just a broken man, with very well highlighted sociopathic and Machiavellian tendancies that he initially controls but is shot into again by the end of Zeta and inbetween CCA. I think the best way to characterize Char is a Ozymandias Complex of sorts, but even then I don't Char could fully be represented by that

Before becoming lieutenant Quattro he impregnated a girl at Axis, but said girl gets shot and dies, of course his child dies with her. Haman Karn could've saved the girl but let her die. In Gundam Light of Life, Amuro's ghost confirmed that Char always harbored despair. In Unicorn Gundam, Full Frontal was that despair given life

CG can be done right, if time and care is used wisely. Unicorn proved this. Origin's CG isn't as good as Unicorn's, but it still solid. Reason why people hate CG anime is simply because we're reminded that Berserk 2017 exist.........

@@WatcherMovie008 Yup Berserk is just the most egregious example, but Overlord's CG is just god awful too.

I would say it is good in this series as a specific exeption. CG is can be used to great effect if it is skillful, and fits the aesthetic of the setting, as it does in gundam. The mechanical objects it depicts are amazing, but when doing more biological entities it has historically looked terrible. Mobile suits and vehicles are slower and less fluid then organisms, which also lend itself to the style of movement CG promotes.

@@dawndarklight44 its certainly possible to do CG with living beings right, too, it just takes a lot more work for it to adhere to the anime look. the kind of work that might, how you say, defeat the main reason anime studios use CG in the first place (cheaper and faster) i mean, have you seen that picture of the jojo pose done in CG, that is then followed up by the same pose from a different angle, where it's revealed an arm is contorted unnaturally for it to work in the camera view? that's the kind of thing the animators need to take into consideration when working with 3D models. i think i saw the same for rwby, too, a video of monty oum showing some behind the scenes work for the 'white' trailer. one scene where the giant armor is standing close to the camera with its sword as the main focus, and a different angle showing that the sword was scaled up massively for it to stand out more in the camera view. (i mean, its technically of a non-living thing, but rwby in general in the monty oum days had great fight animation)

@@Owencarmody Obviously they're not going to delete the battle of Loum XD. Nor Dr Minkovski's death. I think even the Dawn Rebellion was mentioned at one point in previous material. The main issues come from the appearance of the high mobility style Zaku II earlier than it should be and the mass production Guntank and Guncannon being a thing. Alongside the various stuff coming before the Zaku I. Its schemantics, really. Just chronological pissing. Personally for me, it makes more sense that the Federation made shittier versions of both, then combined upgraded models into the V Project alongside the Gundam.

The only suit in my eyes from Origin that gets a pass is the Mobile worker. They can actually fit right into the timeline if they are in fact the "Grab Man" test MS'.

@@KillerOrca the EP (Early Production) Guntanks make a little sense since they don't refer to them as Mobile suits and their addition creates a new point on the Guntank development tree. But the EP Guncannons seem to be exactly what the Federation had designed them to be by mistake: too heavily armored resulting in poor mobility for Mobile Suit combat. The only reason the original Guncannons in the OYW did so well was because of their luna titanium durability and beam rifles. The Zaku ii Hi-Mo's could be REALLY early test types given how Zeon opperated but since I don't know when the Zaku ii Hi-Mo test types were being produced exactly I can't really say. Don't take my word for it I just like trying to fit them into the timeline.
