He finally got it though, and it's a strong one at that, a heart forged by fire, a heart born from the ashes. His story is actually very solid, it got a deep meaning to it. What he's been searching for is within him all along, but in order to reach it he needs to break free from the shackles of the notion that he's a mere puppet, he gotta burn all those strings and be free, he gotta be himself and not who others wanted him to be.

The Tin Soldiers Heart is a real story written by Hans Christian Anderson, a Danish author from the 1800's. I know that's not exactly Fontaine/France but when i first watched this, and before i remembered the folk story, my first thoughts jumped to The Nutcracker. Your telling me that a company that can make material like this is going to get epic anime backdrop 101 to play with? Sounds insane. lets go.

I’ve been saying for a while that Scaramouche’s whole character is based on Bohemian Rhapsody. There’s a couple obvious clues, like his name, and his OST being titled “ominous fandango”. I’ll go through a few other ones quickly. Spoilers, of course. “Look up to the skies and see” - Teyvat’s false skies “Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me” - anemo vision “Just killed a man” - Kazuha’s ancestor “Life had just begun, but now I’ve gone and thrown it all away” - kid in this trailer “Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening” - him becoming the new holder of the electro gnosis, attacking Fatui/Tighnari “Beezlebub has a devil put aside for me” - Beezlebub is Raiden Ei’s actual/demon name And of course, “I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all”.
