For anyone curious, the +50% lightning damage items Asgard Armor (craftable with every playthrough) and Dark Uru Hammer (obtainable in hard mode) are bugged to apply to all kinds of damage

There’s also a glitch that lets you copy over that attribute to other items as long as the other item only has one buff. Asgard armor and dark Uru have 2. But you can copy that already glitched 50% to all powers over to for example starboard flame.

I actually had no idea that Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Sabertooth, Magneto, or Moon Knight were playable in this game. I guess the playstation had more? I remember Bruce Banner and Nightcrawler were more like set pieces that showed up in certain areas for story purposes, and feeling strange that they weren't useable

Some were DLC (so were only purchasable on the PS3 and 360 versions), and I think there might have been some that were console exclusive on top of that? Or might have been base game console exclusives.

In my best ever run of the game, my main to go to team was Iron Man, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider. Ghost Riders Hellfire charge up attack does major damage on top of being able to be buffed by certain outfits, or sacrifice that extra damage for his chance ability to revive teammates from the dead. I think Ghost Rider is worthy of A tier, alongside Moon Knight and maybe Spider-Man. But great list. I love to see MUA content. Ive been playing this game for 13 years now.

Never played the first two game since I never heard of them until like last year, only beaten the 3rd game and really liked it. But watching this video is actually making me consider getting a physical copy of the first game for my ps3, as I lack an xbox, it looks fun!

Mu favourite thing is putting % healing from damage dealt onto Venom, and holding his maxxed out multiple tendrils ability. He CCs the entire room and heals like crazy, since his healing by 5-10% seems to have minimum value like +1hp/attack, and since he deals like 10 ticks of damage per second, as a result he heals for MUCH greater percentage than he should.

Just something good to point out, Thing is a great grappler in this game, with him you can bash grappled enemies to the ground, which does splash damage, it's a great way to deal with minions

@@Jza_Dragon it's actually different, Colossus will use them as weapons, but Thing will grab Just like every other character, but one of the commands will pound the enemy to the ground instead of punching, which does splash damage

I remember buying this and MUA2 for $60 on Amazon years ago. Best impulse buy I've made in a while. Surprised to hear it's still available in Europe though, that's great.

My favourite character is of course Deadpool. His certain suit has greater regeneration boost than the other one. So his healing per second is greater. I think it's +2%/s on top of his built in 1%/s. Then I give him ALL of the body upgrades. That results in greater HP pool, and since regeneration amount is but a 1%/s, as a result his regeneration value is boosted greatly. And then I found some +10 Deadpool defense item, and he became unkillable!

Nice tier list, i personally think hawkeye is a tier as hypershot is a very good party boost for buffing dps as well as his paralyzer power doing very good dps while also not using much energy, which means you dont need to use energy reroute

Also you should try the official characters pack mod for mua 2006, which has all the chars from xmen legends 1 to mua 1; you can get some combinations like secretion toad + fury hulk

Agree With the list for the most part. Deadpool, Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic are definitely the best base game characters, however you are downplaying Hulk a lot. He is arguably the best character in the game second to only Ronin imho. Fury + Healing Factor + Cyclone Punch is very broken and he has the highest attack speed in the game while in Fury Mode. Cyclone Punch can melt bosses pretty quickly.

Im glad cyclops is top tier in this game, in legends 2 he's pretty meek and is like, bottom 5 in terms of damage, and hes not even in 2. Here though he's a monster, i always slot him on my team.

My friends and i ran with a team of Iron Man, Deadpool, Scarlet Witch, and Thor and we had so much sustained AoE that it made the whole game trivial. We had to self regulate otherwise we would clear whole rooms without even taking a tic of damage. That quartet was ultra effective.

@@Jza_Dragon What's important to mention is that Asgardian Armour can be created 4677 times, once per each playthrough, while Dark Uru is dropped only during the first run.

I feel Ms. Marval is at least a tier too low. Her best power is the Photon Orbs which you don't mention. All of the heroes with Team Melee upgrades are great to have. That includes Ms. Marvel, Human Torch, Iceman, Deadpool, and Storm off the top of my head. Great list though overall.

@@Jza_Dragon Gonna hard disagree with this also, especially as a fan of hers. Honestly feel you put Carol too high, cause she’s really not good outside of her time stopping buff, and her melee upgrades aren’t worth much when there are stronger options out there(Deadpool is right there). Would stick her in D tier, but that’s just me. She doesn’t get better gameplay wise until MUA2 and MUA3.

Lies! Dr. DOOM is god tier! Serious though much love. Great listing. Wish DOOM didn't bug out in the later levels of the game. Made enemies invisible, unkillable and other weirdness. Moon Knight and Ghost Rider are also my general go to's. Sabretooth is one I also picked up on in a recent mostly finished playthrough I did a few months back. For 2 I was always a Carnage guy personally.

I'll disagree about Dr. Doom and Moon Knight. Doom is invulnerable with his forcefield while the lightening blast wrecks everyone, the detonation keeps melee attackers away. Or you can jusr fly and rain lightning below, sustained by the energy orbs, occasionally landing to break barrels if rhe oevs don't drop. Moon Knight's nunchucks can melt bosses whilw being sustained by energy orbs, wirh the staff slam keeping crowds away, his "boomerang" has better maneuverability than Cap's shield for crowd control and the nunchucks can also melt monions.

Doom has to constantly use energy to keep foes from touching him, but the damage isn't serious and bosses can't be controlled anyway. He lands in C because he functions but isn't special. Lots of characters can mitigate projectiles and still offer more. Moon Knight's nunchucks are nice damage but mutually exclusive with knockdown from staff or boomerang since nunchucks don't hit to grounded. It's comparable to a radial spin move like Black Panther's or Deadpool's but much narrower, and those guys offer up great team buffs as well. He got a B tier though, because while he has more happening than someone like Doom, he isn't contributing like an A or S tier like Panther or Pool.

Hulk and Colossus have relatively the same overall kits. What standout features do you think truly separate them?

A speed difference by far. Colossus takes hits while waiting for targets to stop falling in slow motion and can't attack grounded quickly anyway. Hulk is just in super fast forward compared to him.

I actually don't struggle with energy with him. I happen to run the X-Men team for a 15% max energy buff, like a mini version of Iron Man's buff, but even without the team bonus I do alright. I used him in online play and never had energy droughts.

He's got a clear leg up. That first power Optic Blast is snappy and strong damage and knockdown and can widen to catch a bigger area as needed, so the control is constant. Surfer's molecular does knock down to a small aoe but it's less area and slower to cast. Then Cyke has ricochet for cleaning up bosses and that thing eats through even energy resistant foes. In surfer's favor, that time slow and heal are both great and viable even without extra ranks put in, but I don't miss em if I don't have em. Flight and the surfboard travel are both solid too, but you really only need 1 party member to have them so I don't think of those as S tier offerings.

@@Jza_Dragon He can solo all content with ease. The only character stronger is Mr Fantastic who obliterates everything. Guys like Iron Man are only good because they buff Surfer, Deadpool, and Mr Fantastic (the best 4-man team overall, though Sabretooth with buffs is also nasty.)

@@bullankan2592 false my guy. Just ran it to check and eye does 600 dps, detonation does 270. Both are not enough. Run Doom Blast instead which hits 750 slightly slower than laser but also has a splash aoe. At any rate, he'd need to double that number if he were to be considered op against bosses. He belongs in C tier, functional but not special.

@@bullankan2592 We're way past just not dying lol. Just look at the numbers. He's not in the boss melting conversation; he'd need to double his output to match other dudes. Even aside from his mid damage, he offers no serious control and no team buffs.
