I wish Nintendo somehow reintroduces Krystal in the new continuity.

I'd love a port of Assault on the Switch. Then they could prime the new audience for a proper next game in that timeline.

Why was Assault's story superb? Gee, it's almost because it was attempting to actually be a sequel instead of yet another reboot and trying new things in the canon! The Aparoids were their own thing, not some invention of Andross, and they were honestly pretty scary, Borg Zerg that they were. It really sucks that Command FUBAR'd the canon, because they could have easily ignored it for the next game, but Nintendo seems to be all about reinventing the wheel these days, even if the wheel they make is

I wish we could get a Star Wolf spin-off.

Team Star Fox: The Leader, the Ace Pilot, the Mechanic, the Telepath, the Father Figure. You know just your normal rag tag team space crew.

Two of the best things about the game: The villains were intimidating. And Star Fox and Star Wolf team up.

I remember thinking that Zero would be like Assault... I was so wrong.

What’s cool about assault is how deadly seriously it takes it’s self. It has talking animal people as the main characters but you really feel like the solar system is at risk of total enslavement.

Star Fox Assault is one of the most underrated GameCube games that ever existed. I wish Nintendo would take more risks with Star Fox like this.

I love StarFox Assault so much. For both what it did with the characters and the amount of freedom available in the gameplay.

To be honest I wouldn’t mind if there was a remake of Assault. Weather if it is a HD remaster or a ground up remake, I will love it!

I wish the new Star Fox games were more like Assault. It was so badass launching a bomb from the Arwing, and then getting out mid-flight to shoot it again with your rocket launcher or other weapon while standing on top of your Arwing. The ground combat was fun and like a more in depth version of the plane combat. It felt awesome to land your arwing, shoot some stuff and then jump back in. It's too bad there will probably never be another game like it...

Honestly still have no idea why nintendo decided "yeah, let's not make a sequel to assault and actually do something new again. lets instead reboot the series back to "fox and crew fight andross again for the third time"." I loved seeing how starwolf's shaky alliances were explored and changed in interesting ways in assault(such as pigma being kicked out for being too much of a scummy piece of crap even for them, andrew going off to try to revive the empire of the uncle he was fanatically obsessed with, panther being an excellent new edition to the crew, etc) and we got to fight a central antagonist that was actually different this time! The gameplay also truly felt like a successor to 64 in the flight and landmaster sections(with yeah, the comparatively small bits of on-foot sections being average at best and being a weak point of the game but not taking up so much time as to be an irredeemably crippling flaw that ruins the entire game like many claim it to be) all it was missing was the branching paths replay incentives.(which left it feeling a bit too short. an issue which zero would proceed to also have to an even greater degree)
