Charizard the OG Starter for sure! I keep using it since I chose Charmander in 1999! Now using a lot in Pokemon Stadium tournaments that we organize in my channel and testing it in his new OU home in Gen 3! Don't forget this thing won the 1999 Nintendo Cup!

Charizard is still my favorite mon! Even with all the new great mons that have come over the years, Charizard is still the one I like more than all of them. I should try to find my other favorite mons along side it, to see if it’ll make a good team competitively or just what I’d want as a trainer ( if I was apart of the anime or something)

@Zentai_Kun yeah but only Dragon types can use that move the only reason you said that because Charizard Mega X is pure Dragon same goes to Mega Ampharos and Sceptile. It could make sense because charizard can fly fast and travels though lands since It's a Flying Type

I would love to see some love for my fire cats and dogs Pyroar and Houndoom. I always named my female Pyroar Kirara because of Inuyasha. My Houndooms are usually named Cerberus because of obvious reasons.

Wait, so If I picked up what you threw down was; I put grass tera on my solar power Zard in place of solarbeam. That it ingenious. Don't need the sun to hit a PHAT grass move a water/ground type wouldnt expect especially if they already blew their tera.

It’s never been historically top tier? Wasn’t it OU in gens1,&2, 6-8 and UU in gen 3-5? It’s still good today!

Charizard was retroactively placed in UU in Gen 1 (UU didn’t exist for Gen 1 until recently, but Charizard was effectively never played when Gen 1 was current. Moltres wasn’t Ubers and was simply better), OU in gen 2, UU in Gen 3, *NU* in 4 and 5, and then alternate forms like Mega and Dmax affected its placements from there. Non-Gmax Charizard was UU in 8. So no, with the exception of Gen 2 with Belly Drum, BASE FORM Charizard has almost never been OU.

And even for the Gen 2 Belly Drum set, it itself was very rarely seen because it would get absolutely wrecked by almost all the pokemon that outsped it in the meta.

@@nolongeraperson It’s key use in GSC was being able to one shot the omni-present Snorlax after a Belly Drum. Lax couldn’t kill Zard in one hit from 50%, so it was one of only a few non-Uber Pokemon in the entire game that could cleanly beat Snorlax in an even 1v1.
