In gen 6, I ran a Hitmonlee on my Trick Room team. He carried an Iron Ball, which halved his regular speed, making him sufficiently slow for Trick Room. And he carried Fling, allowing him a 1 time base 120 power dark type attack, which is great for getting past ghosts and psychics that may want to wall him. But also both gets rid of the iron ball halving speed effect, and activates unburden. If everything goes right, he flings his iron ball on the last turn of Trick Room, and proceeds to outspeed everything once Trick Room is down. Was he amazing? No. He didn't have quite enough power. But he was a really fun gimmick that could sometimes work really well.
