@@russs7574 - The 80s NBA is credited with saving the league after the 70s drug scandals. Bird, MJ, Hakeem, Magic, the Mailmain, etc., did most of the heavy lifting and transitioned into the 90s.I lost interest after the Dream Teamers started to retire. I do enjoy watching the old clips of Celtics, Knicks, Pistons, Pacers, with all the excellent passing and assists.

If you get fired up by this, see if you can find some video of Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell playing against each other....it was a guaranteed blood bath. And the thing about those games is the refs let them play, so neither would foul out, and they both pretty much played all 48 minutes. Celtics vs. Sixers from back then is still one of the best sports rivalries ever.

This is where the great ERA of basketball looks like and plays like. Real basketball as we say it. Now NBA is soft and it all started with the king of flop and king of complaint if he would miss the basket.

Yep, great era of basketball before all the flopping, no dense, super-teams, resting, "load management," flagrant fouls for everything, technical fouls for everything, buddy-buddy even if we are on different teams, recruiting stars to join up...sad

Personally I consider the 80's the best era of basketball. MJ carried the league in the 90's but you're right the nba was better back then than it is now with or without mj
@zaynes5094
@zaynes5094 3 жыл бұрын
@@ericmcgowan1993 It wasn’t better than it is now just because of some idiot refs making some idiot calls. The reason we have the different game now is not because of one man named Lebron. It’s because of on man named Ron Artest who decided he had enough of a fan who decided to be a dummy and dump a drink on him thinking Artest wouldn’t hit him back. That’s when the NBA starter to really change. Most of the greats played in the 90’s, but the 80s, with Dr J, and Larry Legend, those were the best years.

@@zaynes5094 nba is still entertaining. But the league is soft as cotton now. Barkley would rather watch hockey than the nba playoffs. He's not alone. I stand by my previous comments. When did I blame James?
