Obasanjo has never reside outside Nigeria, he has always been in Africa. It was Tailor who wanted to cross to Cameroon and was captured at the boarder. Such attempt could put Nigeria under pressure from international community. If Obasajo wanted to arrest Tailor, he has no reason using same Nigeria security at the boarder to arrest him. He wanted to betray Nigeria gesture, but our boarder security captured him. Obasanjo value his farm house much more than an empire I in the United kingdom.

your heart is a good thing to move by, and it is a blessing that you see the good in mr. taylor, perhaps like his wife has. but it's silly to debate whether he is a monster. at the most basic human level, it's like debating whether or not dr. jekyll is mr. hyde. but insofar as you are leaning, i believe your claim that he is not a monster is at least as equally faulty as calling him a monster. frankly, he did many monstrous things over the years--including condoned/facilitated/led mass genocide, rape, & extorition in the name of rebellion for the sake of politico-economic gain of dominat ideologies. not loving or peaceful ideologies, like the ones you appeal to here. sure, he inherited a cruel sociohistorical context, as many have. ... but it is especially indicative just how much he is willing to play the game of manipulation, no matter the suffering, the way he talks around & avoids confronting all the terrible things he has done, even when he discusses what he regrets. i urge you to realize that-- tho far less severe-- your comment indicates a similar pattern, of buttering up the good stuff with absolutely no acknowledgment of the bad stuff.
