As a Canadian who has never been to Banff or Lake Louise it is nice to see this. CPR was a pretty Bad Ass company back in the age of steam. Someone ought to forward this to somebody higher up in the new CPKC to show them how far the mighty have fallen... When I was a wee lad our house backed directly onto a seldom used CN spur which served a lumber yard, and formerly a coal yard. It was a rare day when a car got dropped off and left for unloading but I was nuts about trains and my parents outfitted me with a little pair of striped overalls, cap and I could play at trains along the quiet track, picking up chunks of coal, rusty spikes, and listening to the hum of the bugs and the smell of creosote and hot rails in the summertime. That was the late 70's, a very different time when 4 year olds were allowed to play alone on the railroad tracks as long as I was within earshot of my mother... I miss those days.
