This is a compilation of all railway scenes from the movie La Bataille du Rail, which was made in honour of French railway workers that apposed to the Nazi's during the second World War. La Bataille du rail is a 1946 French war film directed by René Clément. It depicts the efforts by railway workers in the French Resistance to sabotage German military transport trains during the Second World War, particularly during the Invasion of Normandy by Allied forces. Many of the cast were genuine railway workers.
The film was shown at the 1946 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prix international du jury and Clément won the Best Director Award. The film also won the inaugural Prix Méliès.

The scenes in this movie are equally good as in the movie The Train! Especially the derailing of armoured tanks carrying tanks is true classic! Thanks for great upload.

The thing that surprised me the most about the film The Train was watching them unscrew the screws for the plates holding the rails in position. I had no idea that was how they built their track work in France because in Australia we spike our rail plates down with steel spikes similar to how the British and Americans build their railway tracks. Nowadays with concrete railway sleepers they use steel spring clips. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

When you are willing to give your all those who live through it have a chance of living free, your family, your neighbors, you towns' people, even your country. If you don't then this all fails and you live in bondage to evil governments and die pointlessly. And you et to live realizing you failed everybody. War is a bitch. Not going to war is far far worse. {o.o}

The Nazis occupied most of Europe, including parts of Britain. Across all the occupied lands, there was only ONE place that never had a Resistance. The Channel Islands, BRITAIN. The rest of us fought, when and where we could, the English didn't. They never even helped the Todt workers, nor Jews, to escape. ☦☦☦☦☦☦☦

German used widely captured material, and they particularly appreciated the PPsh' sub machine gun. Some of them were captured in Normandy by allied troops.

@@Zorglub1966 Yes, the Germans used a lot of captured weapons, including submachine guns. They even converted some of them to use 9x19 ammunition and an MP.40 magazine. From what I see, the soldiers in the film have weapons without magazines and with two different sights. However, I did not think that this weapon traveled with the Germans to France. And I think it would have been easier for filmmakers to get their hands on MP.40s, which were rather plentiful at the time. For me, these Soviet submachine guns in this film are such a nice curiosity.
