My mother stayed with my mentally and physically abusive father for the sake of her children. It was a mistake. We grew up witnessing arguing and fighting nearly every night. I went to bed scared and went to school sad. We had a good roof, food, and clothes but didn't see love between mother and father. I made promises as a man to be better and not fall into the pattern of abuse my grandfather and father did. Staying in a abusive, or unloving relationship does nothing for the children. It actually can hurt them mentally and emotionally.

I agree with you in regards to people with healthy mindsets. A lot of people nowadays don’t have healthy mindsets. I been with my husband for 14 years since I was 18. I don’t even make eye contact with other men but I have been through extensive therapy too because I’m a product of a single mom home who told me men ain’t nothing. Ultimately, I don’t agree that broken people can be healthy in relationships but I do believe they can truly love a person they hurt. I’m a hood baby. You see it all the time.
