In today's tutorial I teach all of you Photographers how to make a really cool logo using Photoshop and some free fonts. This is a beginner tutorial so you really don't need a ton of design experience to make your own logo. Enjoy and make some cool stuff!

Hey Charley! Great video! Sorry, I am a learner and am having trouble using the logo I made anywhere other than photoshop. For example in lightroom? Or just in photos on my Mac? Do you always have to layer the logo over a photo in photoshop only? Also having trouble changing the colour, I watched your tutorial a few times. Im on my macbook pro and just cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be great your tutorial was fantastic and I love my new logo!!

If it goes too fast just pause the video while you figure it out. After a couple of times I was able to get it to work and it's a good looking signature file. I could not find the EdmondSans font for free anywhere for personal and commercial use so I used a similar file called Copperplate Gothic Light which I found in Photoshop & looks almost as good IMO. How do you group the two name layers? You used a shortcut and didn't say what it was.

I don't know the shortcut but under layers there's an icon of a folder - that's what you use for groupings :)

Charley Pangus Another way of saving as well is to "define as a brush" and choose any color as well. I use both personally :)

Very well done and executed sir. I learned something new and I think your delivery was pretty fast. HOWEVER, I would stop the video, switch to PS, do what you just told me, and if I forgot something, I'd drag the slider back and watch it again. Thank you.

Question: Did you contact the author of the font and ask their permission before using the font for commercial purposes? I know it says that it's free to use, does that mean that it's copyright has been waived?

Having issue on photoshop cc, it does not create a text layer like on your video, text goes onto the white layer created at the start. What am I doing wrong?

Oh thank you for your tutorial didn't know it so easy. I struggled to start with the logo because I thought it would be not so easy!! I just started with my logo after this video 😊😊😊 and btw yes u cant please everybody. So let your videos just be you!! Being yourself is totaly fine 😊
