@kevinxiao0 At the end of the episode when Alan returned him to Judith's house and Judith (as always) yelled at Alan for not keeping a closer eye on Jake. As Alan left, he caught Jake trying to sneak out again, and he offered to help and took him back to the front door to show Judith and get back at her.

with every season, he's more powerless against Jake. For example, Season 9. Jake want his dad to sleep in the air mattress, Alan said "ok fine, i'll pack our stuff and we will move in with grandma". Jake just shrug and wait by the door. Alan is packing jake's clothes, showing him he's not bluffing. But Jake don't care, whether it's the beach house or grandma house, he does whatever he wants. So Alan cave in and sleep on the air mattress. HaHa

What Evelyn did wasn't great. She undermined Alan's authority as a parent and potentially endangered Jake. But to play a devil's advocate, I would say that understanding that your parents & other authority figures aren't gods is important, as well. They don't have and shouldn't have unequivocal control over all of your actions. It's a very good lesson to learn before you're 18.
