Another amazing hit from "Some kind of wonderful", one of the best movies and best era in music and entertainment in general, the 80s. Loved it then and still love it. I just turned 57 recently and this music is timeless, so are the movies. So great.

Finally! I fell in love with this song in "Some Kind of Wonderful " but never knew who it was. My daughter, who now has children a couple of years from my age when I first heard it, was looking for a song from one of the John Hughes' movies. After rattling off the obvious ones that weren't the one she was looking for, I went on a deeper dive and finally found this gem!! Oh, this song gives me all the feels! All my Gen X friends, we were so lucky to grow up in a time where the evolution of music was so exciting. John Hughes knew how to elicit teen angst with a perfect soundtrack every time! He was the first pick to play Eric Draven in the original Crow movie. James O Barr said that he fit the description of Eric in the comic perfectly.

He was scheduled to come to a hole in the wall called Iroquois in Roanoke, Va back in the day. A bar/young spot, underage drinking and all that. Being a high schooler at the time it was a great place to be. Lots and lots of bands, pool tables, chicks. [not meant to be derogatory in any way]. Had a ticket. and it was cancelled. I'm still sad about that........ Man O Man. The 80's!

Where the hell was I when this came out?!!!! First time hearing Sexton and I gotta say... so good. So good. The vocals and guitar, wow. Granted I was 10 back in 87’.

One of the 80's "lost" musicians, although he has been Dylan's guitarist for quite some time, along with Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers

So short story, when Jimmy Barnes was sans Cold Chisel, one of his first gigs was in Brisbane, QLD at a pretty small venue. After he did the first set, he left to take a break and introduced Charlie Sexton(band guitarist) to fill the void and he played this song, which I had never heard before but thought it was fantastic but being a Jimmy Barnes concert, promptly forgot about it after that. Fast forward, I end up at a hotel in Austin, Tx for a footy tournament and they have an Austin Wall of Fame of artists that come from the area, and there is Charlie. With the advent of the internet I was able to reconnect with this song and enjoy all over again.

Confirmed he was 16 years old when he cut this song. Not only did he have that talent, but look at the smoking! Can you imagine today a smoker in a music video; let alone one under age? Rock on, Charlie!!! I was a smoker when I played a cop on TV. F the PC crowd!

@CharlieSextonMusic I’m very well thank you. I’m just saying hello about Charlie Sexton because I was reminiscing about the time in ‘86 when I -by word of mouth-first heard about Charlie Sexton. He was always really good looking, and is Good Looking Still. Hot!🖤🖤🖤
