@No Perhaps you are wittering on about now about teenage girls getting pregnant, where it seems to be accepted, and not back in the 1960's and well before, where a girl getting pregnant was highly embarrassing to her parents, and other family members, and often hidden away in some 'home' until the birth, and then have to work out a plan to tell others where the sudden baby in the family has come from? So your claim on 82% teenage girls pregnancies are accidental, is because they get totally legless, go to bed with equally drunk boyfriends or strangers, with not attempts at birth control. Then 15% are planned, which makes 97%, so what happens to the remaining 3%? So you must been still a teenager, that likes to 'sleep' with all and sundry, like the ones who get pregnant on purpose to get child benefits and somewhere to live provided by the over stretched Councils? Guaranteeing love does not house, clothe, feed babies, our taxes do, unless you have a rich mummy and daddy, or just one because of a divorce. So who is the delusional one here?.........:)

Not to mention you'd THINK she'd have more understanding and compassion being that her son is "Special Needs". When some claims the profits of the item for sale are going to help a baby you should be congratulating them, not smearing them cus you didn't get your way. Imagine she insulted her back saying something in regards to her special needs son? That would've really hurt her feelings. So if you don't wanna get hurt don't go around hurting others.

All this here is why I tell my little children no sometimes. My 6 year old would say “but I asked nicely!” And I have to remind her “you asked in a nice and respectful way, I do appreciate that, but sometimes in life you’ll still be told no.” Hopefully my parenting strategy will pay off 🤞🏻

Yesss aside from getting help from my parents for a place to live (my fiance and I got pregnant at probably the worst timing after we were kicked out of our apartment) we work hard to pay our own bills, buy our own groceries, and save up to get back on our feet. We only take help if it's offered to us. It's hard when times are tough but it is entirely possible to make it through without being rude to people or throwing a self-pity party with strangers.

True story: In my office we contribute to buy a birth day cake. First we gave $ 5 each for the cake, soda, ice cream, etc . Everyone complained the contribution was too high so we set it to $3, the cake was still good but no ice cream and few drinks, people still complained soooo today we only ask for $1.25 each, the cake is blah and everyone complains why the cake isn’t good anymore, where is the soda and the ice cream. Well, Karenssss, it’s because you don’t want to give more 💰 so the cake has to be cheaper. We ask for money Just to have at least a “cake”. The worst part is, the person who is the hardest to get the money to contribute is the very first to complain.

That sounds about right. I worked in an office like that until I moved to Corporate. There, HR budgets for the birthdays for each month. They send out cards to the satellite offices as well. However, each month had a large cake, bottles of wine and other snacks. With so many people in each department, the wine didn't go very far (but it was the thought Yada, Yada). Back in legal we had a mini bar in the executive offices , so we finished the parties up right. We had a great team.

@@roomum9829 No, I appreciate others by giving. Appreciation of your fellow man is not appreciating what they can do for you but showing what them what you can do for them. When is the last time you gave something or done something for someone instead of just being the recipient? When have you given a person your last, when have you supported a drug user and got them off the street or gave to the homeless and spent your money and sat without so another could have? Have you ever done a duty for your country or your people? I send my boy money for medicine in Brasil who can’t afford to even have a day off work when he is sick. I have, so you can’t say I should try it sometime. I’m not a rich person but appreciation isn’t in just saying it, you have to try to give something back of what you receive. I don’t understand how you can make that mistake at the till more than once, you are either incredibly absent minded or you you take advantage and what is worse you let a person take care of your shopping while you say you had the money in another account!! That’s terrible, so your inconvenience was to go home and get your other card but no, more than once you took from someone when you weren’t even needy when there are others who don’t have a penny. And not even that, what I would have done was the money I saved having another buy my shopping if I was you, I would have made it clear I was returning home and donating that money I would have spent anyway on my shopping that you so kindly saved having another pay for it while you had the money, and took it to a food bank or the homeless shelter. Taking when you aren’t needing isn’t appreciation it’s disgusting behaviour and you just turned a profit. I hope you understand now what appreciation is and not just waiting on a hand out when you have money in your other pocket.

The saddest part about it all and apologies for the philosophical angle, but: if they gave of themselves, either their time or money and saw that it really helped the person, they'd find a much greater joy in doing that than being 'takers' their entire lives. Harder still depending on the process (at least for me). A lot of effort goes into these jobs and the person doing it deserves to be paid for the effort it takes. The person buying should at least be willing to compensate for the time.

This homeless guy walked into a fast food restaurant after me asking if I can buy him something. I said okay and was talking to the worker about what I wanted to order and asking him about the menu as it was my first time there. Then the homeless guy starts coming close to me, giving me attitude, and telling me to hurry up in a very rude tone. After that I decided not to buy him anything and as I walked past he called me some pleasant words 🙃 The audacity of everyone who feels entitled is beyond me

I drive by and sometimes stop at a Wendys close to home. I noticed during the day there was A homeless dudeman standing on the corner by a stop sign waiting for handouts. I bought him a sandwich twice. I noticed one time Wendys had a Help Wanted sign out. This guy was standing 20 feet from the sign, he could not have missed it. He continued to ask for stuff. I still see him but I'm through feeding him.

My sister went and got a homeless lady her preferred meal (they were at a street corner, so my sister got her order and brought it back to her). Instead of a thank you, the homeless lady asked if my sister could rent her and her boyfriend a hotel room for a couple of days. Bruh. If it’s not offered, don’t ask. When my sister said no, the lady asked if she could “at least” get $20 then. The choosiest of beggers right there.

Was with a friend who locked her keys in her car, so I used my AAA card to have someone sent out to do an unlock, which they will do for any vehicle if the card member is present. A week later, while I was in class, I got a voicemail from her. She locked her keys in her car again, this time at her work, and wanted me to come up there and use AAA again. She then says, "When you're done, give my keys to the manager on duty and I will get them tomorrow.". She wanted me to drive 45 minutes to her work to get her a free locksmith and wait on them by myself while she was hanging out with another friend.

It's the free part there that bothers me so much. Shouldn't they go 'hey, I've heard you're a great painter, and it would be so cool to have a painting done by someone I know, how much do they cost?' And then you could decide to give them a discount or not, with the understanding they're not owed a discount. Hell, I made a website for my mother in law for free, because she was nervous about starting a 1 person business and I thought it would be a nice and useful gift. I had to refuse to take money for it for 3 weeks. Keep hope, there is a different side to the coin, even if it seems to be heavily weighted.

one time i bought a full bag of potatoes for a homeless in a wheelchair after i asked him if he needed certain kinds of food (i think it‘s always more effective to buy homeless people food instead of giving them money because you don‘t know what they will do with it). he said he needed potatoes, so i walked to the next grocery store (that wasn‘t even close) and bought him a full heavy bag of potatoes and then CARRIED it back to him. after i gave it to him, he looked me straight in the eyes and said „look at how small this bag is, what am i supposed to do with this“ and then proceeded to ask me if i could run back to the same grocery store and buy him bread too, even though he didn‘t say anything of it before i went for the first time. long story short, i just turned around and walked away (i let him keep the potatoes, but thinking back to it, i should have just taken them back after his comment). i still see him often as he is always waiting at the shopping mile and begging for money, but i always ignore him now. and he knows that i do, because i look him straight in the eye and then continue walking lol 😌

I am retired now, at 68 years of age. I was a single mother; my son is now 47, married, with 2 kids of his own. When my son was younger, sometimes I would take him to work with me at night. Then when he got old enough that he didn't need a sitter, I would have two jobs, and I would get off work very late. One night I stopped at a fast food drive-through and bought a meal, and a woman panhandler gave me a sad tale and hit me up for some money. I think I gave her $5-$10. A couple of nights later, I went to another fast food restaurant at the same intersection, and there she was again, "working" the drive-through there. She came up to my window to give me her spiel again, and I that time I said no. She was so angry, she got right in my car window and was yelling at me. I told her "Lady, I just got through working TWO jobs, 18 hours straight, and I am tired and HUNGRY. If you get between me and my food order, you're gonna be sorry." I just rolled up my window and when I got to the window to pick up my order, I called the manager over and told him "There's a crazy lady out there interfering with your paying customers!" He was so pissed, because she hung around there all night and day pestering the customers for money. If he called the police on her, she would just be back again the next day. I have helped people out with food and money before, and I make contributions to several charities. But being exhausted after working TWO jobs, I was not in the mood for somebody like her, who didn't even TRY to make an honest living. Grrrrrr! (By the way, I now collect Social Security after working my a$$ off for almost 50 years, but I STILL have a part-time job at home, typing for extra money so I can make a little more to do some of the things I like to do, like going on little trips, occasionally going out to eat, and having some spending money. The only way I could figure out to have spending money left over after all the bills are paid is to work more hours! AND I paid off every single penny of my student loans just two months before I retired! LOL)

I once bought tickets for a concert that my friend and I were going to. Since she wasn’t as big a fan, but I was- I bought a fan club membership to get access to a pre-sale. In a way guaranteeing we’d get the seats, good location and at face value. I ended up buying 4 tickets (the max allowed) and asked her for payment on her ticket as agreed. Cool, she said she’d pay me later. 4 months later the show is coming up. Still hasn’t paid me but whatever. The show is now sold out so I sell the other 2 tickets above face value. The day of the show I mention to my friend that I sold the other two tickets above face value. It’s been awhile but the membership was like $30, tickets $50 with fees and I sold the extras for like $90 each. So get this - she says that I should give her a share of the profits. Me: Uhm those were my tickets, here is the one you wanted and it’s $50 (face value). Yeah but you sold mine for $90 so I should get $40. Me: nope, I didn’t sell YOUR ticket. Your ticket, that you still haven’t paid me and which cost me extra because of the membership but I’m not charging you that obviously, is right here. I could not get her to change her mind and she never ended up paying me. On top of all that, she showed up about an hour before the show, although she’d agreed to camp out with me all day. Guess who was there in the sun starting at 7am? So she could waltz up to a free concert an hour before the show and still end up in 5th row - and still argue I owed HER money. Smh

I had a similar thing happen to me at the grocery store only I was the one short on cash. I put things back when a lady standing 3 people behind me told the cashier she would pay for the remainder of my groceries. I thanked her and told her it was okay and that I could pick them up the next time I was able to shop. AT the time I was living paycheck to paycheck and thought I had calculated right on my grocery costs. But I was $22 over. I had already put back most of the items but was still $6 shy and the lady reached in her purse, pulled out a $10 and handed it to the cashier...I apologized for holding up the line because the 2 people behind me were starting to complain even though it was just a few items I had taken off. The kind lady said, " No, don't apologize... we all get in a tight spot sometimes and need help. I'm all too happy to take care of this. The cashier took the $10 and when she went to hand it to the lady she said, "give it to her, she may need it later for gas or something". I told her it was okay and that I'd be okay, but she insisted. I thanked her again and again because the truth was, I had no more money for the remainder of that month. I had paid all my bills, rent, medical costs for my disabled daughter and was really strapped after buying food and supplies for our month. I've never forgotten her kindness to this very day and that was 6 years ago. My husband had recently died from cancer and my disabled daughter and I was both sick and extremely poor at the time. The life insurance we paid for more than 30 years dropped my husband the moment they found out he was ill so we had no money to bury him or to live off of. My daughter received $1,200.00 a month for a disability that was only paid because her father had died. When I walked to my car that day and unloaded my groceries inside, I sat there for 30 minutes crying... not because we were broke and poor but because someone was so kind that they pulled their own hard-earned money out of their pocket to help me. I pray that she has been blessed every day of her life since. Now that I'm more financially stable I donate whatever I can whenever I can to those who are the most need. Paying it forward when I see those who are suffering as I and my daughter once had.

Omg no wait, THIS in fact was the worst entitled thing I've seen in my life... My nan bumped into her childhood sweetheart at a nursing home and found out he had had a tragic life, which made this next bit dispicable. He'd been admitted to hospital and ALMOST died. He hadn't, got well, went home and found his nephew who owned a well known curtain company here in W.A. had up and sold everything in his house worth money Inc HIS WAR MEDALS!!!! They kept the money, then stuck him in the nursing home she found him in! He was the sweetest most gentle man I ever knew. He had no children because his wife who developed a mental illness, killed their daughter (with an axe) while he was at war and got committed. When he came home and found out he continued to care for and visit her in the Sanatorium... My Nan married him and he became our much loved pop for a good couple of years before he finally passed away. My sis and I would get so excited to visit and he just doted on us. He was their loss and our incredible gain. We just wish she'd found him sooner. ❤️🤗

Keep in mind, she was 16 and I was 18, but SHE had a job and I didn’t yet. She would also leave the house an absolute mess, leaving me and my dad to clean behind her (when confronted, she said ‘’but you have to tell me to do these things! Plus I’m too tired to clean :(’’). We got out whenever she wanted, but I was always the one paying, and she either never payed me back, or made her boyfriend give his money to me. After a week she moved out with her boyfriend. A few days after that (I was already done with her) she starts BOMBARDING me with messages and calls on every fucking app in the world. I live in Nashville and back in 2010 we had a HUGE flood. Think Noah! My house was not effected as I don't live anywhere near the flood plain but a woman I went to church with lived close to the river and EVERYTHING she had was destroyed in the flood. She literally had NOTHING left. My heart broke for her and I just couldn't imagine how it WOULD feel to have to start all over and replace EVERYTHING. I went through my linen closet and divided everything into two equal stacks and designated half of them for her. If I had 8 sets of sheets I kept four sets and put four in the stack to go to her. Same thing with bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. She got HALF of everything in my linen closet. I should add that everything I set aside for her was in excellent condition and was IDENTICAL to what I kept for myself. I did not pull out ragged things to give her. In fact, I didn't have any linens that were ragged because everything was relatively new. My minister knew I had rather limited mobility because of recent knee surgery so he volunteered to come by my house and pick the donation up and take it to her. Knowing how expensive linens were I was delighted that I was able to give her enough things that she would absolutely not have to buy any linens for a while. At least not until she had a little bit of time to get back on her feet. A couple of days later my minister called me and said that she did not want the things I had sent because she really just wanted money so she could get things that better matched her décor. He asked me if I wanted him to just drop the things off at Goodwill and I told him "No. Please just bring them back to me. They are in perfect condition and I can use them but I was just willing to share with her." So he brought them back to me and I am happily still using some of them to this day. Maybe this is more a choosingbeggar story because I think if our roles were reversed and I had just lost EVERYTHING in a flood, I would gratefully have accepted EVERY donation, graciously thanked her, and then as I could afford to purchase new things that perhaps better "matched my décor", I would quietly have gathered up the things she had given to me and run them by Goodwill. What I would not have done is inform her, "No thanks. What you are giving me is not up to my high expectations." (That's the way I interpreted her refusal of the things I tried to give her.) So the sheets and towels were not quite the color she wanted. At least they were sheets and towels and she could use them and take the money she saved because she didn't have to immediately buy linens and use it to purchase dishes or pots and pans or whatever. I did not and I do not understand how she could just throw that sort of donation back in my face and the thing is that she KNOWS me. She knows I do not have a filthy house and I had no indoor pets so the things I gave her were not dirty or covered in cat or dog hair. Mine is also a non-smoking house so the things did not smell of smoke. I don't get it but I have been a LOT slower to try to help anyone following that incident. BTW, a couple of Sundays after my things were returned to me, a collection was taken to give that lady money to help her purchase some of the things she had lost in the flood. I contributed NOTHING.

@@maryannanderson7517 OMG! Honestly I am mad at your minister too. He should have taken a few minutes & schooled her on being grateful for the people in her life that were willing to share HALF of what they had! You are such a kind & generous person! The minister also should have stopped the money collection too & said that she had been returning the things that didn't match her decor & apparently had what she really needed. @@maryannanderson7517 @Maryann Anderson If you knew her, why didn't you ask her beforehand what she needs and whether she wanted some of your linens? And since you never spoke to her directly, can you be sure your minister didn't paraphrase a little too much? Did you ever find out if she knew the things came from you? And if you knew her, did you ever ask her about the situation afterwards? Do you know how many donations she got, kept and declined? I'm not saying your offer wasn't generous, because it was, but the lesson seems to be that anytime you want to help out, ask the person in need first before you put in the energy. Communication would just have solved so much in that scenario. Btw that goes for everyone who reads this: Talk to people! Directly, so you actually know what information is transferred and you don't have to rely on interpreting hearsay when forming opinions. And if they then turn out to be truly entitled asshats, then you can still be frustrated about it. (But I also know, that it's been 10 years and that that was just supposed to be a general example for perceived and probable entitlement through beggarschoosers mentality and how, in principle, that mindset reflects ungratefulness. You are likely not emotionally invested in that specific experience anymore, esp. since it required very little effort on your part.)

I told him to go there then because this kit cost over $100 new. He was like, You're blind, you're a clown, etc. I finally told him that if he could't afford $60 then he should have a pet anyways because they can require expensive care. I have this really nice Ghanian friend(I'm Liberian), he's so generous and sweet. A lil bit over a year ago, my "friends" and I travelled to Ghana for vacation;a few girls (3 + me) from my university that I've always been cool with. I'm not a clique kinda person so they were my first ever group of friends and I thought it would be nice to travel together. Anyway, getting to the point, this my Ghanian friend told me I could stay at his hotel so I wouldn't have to pay for an apartment. I really didn't want to but my friends were so excited when I told them and I wanted to make them happy and help them save some of their money. So we moved out of the apartment and went to the hotel, we were not even in the hotel for a week when the other two planned behind my back for us to leave, saying the place was too far from all the night action venues; after I went there mainly because of them. My friend from high school -- the 3rd girl -- told me what they had planned and I told them that if they wanted to leave, they could. I couldn't and didn't even want to leave at that point because the guy was in Europe and had booked a reservation for ME. They left two days later and I stayed there with my other friend. Pushing forward to about a year back, this my same Ghanian friend was coming to my country(Liberia) and wanted to see me for dinner. Having a new "group",I told them I was gonna meet him and they were so excited and finally wanted to see him too. I told them since it was dinner I would have to ask his permission first. I went over early at the hotel he usually stays at and by evening he had reluctantly agreed to meet my friends (he's a bit of a snob😅). When they finally came over, we all had dinner and it was really nice. I wanted all of us to pay for our own meals but he volunteered to pay for everyone, almost $80, which is a lot of money here. Headed home after dinner, we had to get a cab and they still wanted me to go and ask him for money for that;can u imagine that 🤦🏽,I refused. Since they all claimed to not have money,I offered to pay. All the other girls -- 3, one more girl was added😄 -- were dropped off at the front of their houses and it was just two persons left. When we finally got to my house, it was almost 12 midnight and the streets were dark; streetlights are a joke in my country, lol. It takes maximum 2 minutes to walk from the main street to my house but it was very dark and bad things happen sometimes in my neighborhood. U won't believe that my "friend" told the cab driver to stop so I could get off on the street and walk to my house because she was getting late to reach to her house, her house is max 10mins away from mine oh. Well,I refused, firstly, because it was dangerous and secondly, because I had invited them to a dinner that was meant just for me,I had paid for the cab and most importantly, everyone else was dropped off at their doors so why me?I just thought it was mean and selfish. The driver, being the absolute prick that he was and listening to my friend, refused to take me the rest of the way, my brother eventually had to walk out to come get me. That same night,I sent a voice message to our group chat expressing that I felt taken advantage of(crying from sadness and confusion) all the time and that I was leaving the group, they begged me to stay and I reluctantly did. To this day, that friend of mine has never apologized. Let's just say, I realized they called me their "plug" for a reason and presently, that I'm no longer in that "clique" and this time I didn't listen to any sorry excuse for an apology. I'm happy being back to just myself, no group, just me💖 . Some of us are not meant for cliques and some people are just brats no matter how sweet u are to them. Thanks for reading my novel🙈 .

His family hardly ever visited but would seem annoyed if we didnt jump at the first snowflake to shovel the drive if they visited or if the grass grew just a little and we didn't get to it. But she had tatto appoitment next week and ask me if I could lend her money. I said yes, because I was sad for her. Her mother even called me to say thanks and promised they pay me back in two weeks. A month latter, still nothing, and I started to ask my friend for the money. But she always found excuse. After another month I was pissed of. Her family was wealthy. But I had to take a part time job while at school to earn it. So I write her mom that I really need it back because off MY family emergency. It was lie, but I was really pissed off. She was spending double off what I she owed me every single week and rubbed in my face, how sad it was that my budget is to tight. But funny thing, her mom already give her the money for me. She just spend it and never said. Her mom came to give me the money personally and to apologize to me. I was ready to forgive my friend, but then she started to accuse me off being selfish and a bitch for telling her mom, and now she was in trouble because of me. Like if I couldn’t wait a few more weeks so she can save some change from her “weekly pocket money” her patents giving her. Like dude it was 200$. It was literally my whole sallary for a month I supposed to buy a food with (my parents paid my stay at school house, but didn’t have enought for the rest). And you known it. I paid for my best friend's vet visit - her dog had an emergency and she's struggling with money. So i obviously offered to help since i can. My friend never tried to ask me, she's perpetually afraid to ask for help, which is why i offer to help a lot. I also tend to pay for gas if the trip is for me in some way, especially since i dont know how to drive yet. Since then, i've made a visit down to her house for a few days. Her mother asked her to go pickup dinner for her, and just her - not anyone else. So when she asked if their was gas in her car, her mother indignantly said no and rolled her eyes. She just expected me to pay for the gas in her car for a trip to pick up her food. My friend was seething at this. This why she's afraid to ask for anything. I obviously didnt pay for the gas, her mother gave my friend her card, so she used that for gas. Her mother didnt say anything but she was in a sour mood. We are currently planning how to get my friend out of her mother's house. Its a very complicated situation unfortunately. But damn, i just want my friend to not have to deal with the abuse anymore.

When my grandma passed away last year, my mom's older sisters pretty much became entitled. They went through the kitchenware and sold pretty much all of the good cookware and the baking dishes that my grandma bought for me to cope with my depression and anxiety, and sprung a yard sale on my mom the day before it happened, with me finding out about it forty-five minutes later when I got home from school. I found out at the yard sale that they had told my cousins that my mom knew about it weeks in advance. There's a lot more to the story, and I actually posted it on Reddit, so if I can find it, I'll link it here. Your books are your concern and she also said that carrying heavy bags was just a facade and that we were not actually studying. Remembered after reading the walmart story.

@nfalvv I give my seat up to no one....because I'm DISABLED. You don't need to be elderly to be sick or even have visible signs. Heck I know elderly people healthier than I am! But I would bet money NO ONE would give up their seat for me even if I explained my medical conditions. In fact this happened several times and due to people not believing me I had a seizure, another time I got nauseous and extremely dizzy. I dry heaved, vomited, and blacked in and out, oh and I've fallen. Imagine their damn surprise that I wasn't bsing. I thank god I dont live somewhere I'd have to deal with public transport daily.

I remodeled my kitchen, after purchasing my home, and put the old appliances up for sale. Here's a conversation about the refrigerator: LADY: Do you still have the refrigerator? ME: Yes LADY: How low will you go? ME: (I had it listed for $100 but would be willing to negotiate with any interested party. By interested, I mean, someone willing to come out and look at it.) $100 LADY: Ok, but how low will you go? ME: $100. If you'd like to look at it, we can haggle, at that point. LADY: Ok, but how low will you go? ME: (I consider myself incredibly patient) $100, unless you'd like to come look at it. LADY: Ok, I'll come take a look at it but I can't come today, it will have to be tomorrow. ME: No problem, except that I'll be leaving promptly at noon, tomorrow and won't be back until the evening, so it will have to be before noon. LADY: Ok. I give her the address and wait and wait but she never showed up before noon, so I left. 3pm - LADY: WHERE ARE YOU? YOU TOLD US WE COULD COME LOOK AT IT!! ME: Yes, remember I said you would have to come before noon, as I wouldn't be available after that? LADY: Um, ...er,... Well,... How low will you go? I finally lost my patience and told her to fuck off.

Nazli Aydin right. I literally quoted one bride “friend” $250 for a 3 tier wedding cake that had cake lace, lots of fondant work, etc. and she had the nerve to tell me I was overcharging her. I called up a local grocery store to get a price of a plain 3 tier, no decorations, and theirs was more. She hit a nerve and I told her to go bargain shop if she wanted but I was undercharging her and that she could comment of the prices when she learned to make them herself.

When you talked about the dumpsters at condos I laughed because my old apartment dumpsters had some insane finds! I got an older Dyson wireless sweeper, a huge dollhouse for my daughter, and a bunch of good tools. I wasn't even really looking that much and that was only 2 dumpsters out of the 20 or so at the complex. My buddy found way more stuff then me he was always checking. I would be walking back from my garage at 1 am and I see him drive by looking for his next find. A lot of people stop paying and the owners just toss everything if the renters don't move it.

Was working in a restaurant, writing down my worked hours as you have to do in this (evil) industry. When I showed my detailed sheet of paper at the end of the month, the manager got shocked over the number of hours and consequently the amount of money dued. Told me that in our restaurant, nobody was counting each single hour because everybody was working with the heart, for the beauty of cuisine and not for the paycheck and offered me to pay me 20 hours less because "there weren't many clients so you weren't technically working" he said. Since I insisted on receiving all my money, I simply got fired. The worst is that I found out I was fired...on my way to work the next day by my colleague who was surprised to see me. Incredible!!!

This is why wage theft needs to be criminalised. It needs to be an actual crime, so you can call the police when they take your earnings. The value of wage theft is higher than the combined value of all other theft. Someone takes food from a shop without paying, and they are a criminal. But one business owner can steal millions from their employees, and there is no crime. It's not right.

I had a younger lady in front of me in line at Aldi and she was having trouble paying. Her card got declined. She had a toddler girl in her cart and I felt bad for her so I told the cashier to just add her order to mine and I'd pay since she said it was only like $10. Then it got complicated and it turns out she was getting food and a couple bottles of $5 wine. She had an EBT card to pay for the food and had already paid, then tried to pay with her debit card for the wine when it got declined. So then the cashier says she'd have to cancel the order and start over again to wring up the wine separately. Love it when you try to help and it gets complicated lol The young lady felt terrible, apologized profusely, and told me not to worry about it. I checked and had a $20 bill and so I just gave that to the clerk and told the young lady that we all need a good weekend every now and then 😉 Obviously it was the idea that she couldn't afford things for her child that made me want to help, but weirdly glad I got to buy her some cheap wine so she could relax and unwind a little bit. So much more on brand for me anyways lol

She had literally sold them for money and she was not even ashamed of it. Worst person i met.. she came from a family of 3 siblings and they used to potray that they are very poor and everyone used to try to help them out. After this incident i was discussing with 1 of my classmate and got to know that she even borrowed books from him... the same semester books and even sold his books. Literally worst person.

Life is already hectic and I'm running short on time this person who was in my tution classes contacts me and asks me to design a free bunglow plan for his holiday home and he's a civil engineer. When I asked him how much he's paying he said if I could work for free it's a win-win situation as I'll get some exposure and it'll be great for my portfolio. And he wanted it last month. I rejected him saying I'm already busy with my thesis so I can't "help" him.

gonna add one of my own stories in here. so, one of my coworkers was extremely reckless with his money, and it had gotten to the point where his supervisor would kindly pay for some of his meals. but at this point, even she grew tired of it. during one of our food runs, he'd asked me to spot him. in a couple of days we would get paid, and he claimed he'd pay me back then. i reluctantly agreed. a few days passed and pay day hit, didn't see my money. i don't like to come off as pestering, so i didn't say anything at first. when it hit the middle of the month, i finally asked him for my money and he claimed he had it at home and he would bring it during our next shift. i still waited on it. during this time, he asked to borrow money again for food. ofc i told him no, since i was still waiting for him to pay me back from before. during this time, i had found a $20 in my uniform that had been folded up in my pocket and had been sitting there for years. i moved to put it back into my wallet and he eyed it and asked me if he could borrow some more money. i told him no. he said he saw i had cash, and i just looked at him. i was mind blown. i legit wondered if he was joking or just trying to see how far he could push me. i was annoyed. it still took him another 2 weeks to finally pay me back, and this was with me constantly texting him before he left for work, so there was no excuse. he also borrowed money from another coworker, and then had the gall to say out loud while talking to other people, even knowing that i was nearby, how he went and bought a new xbone after spilling a drink on his old one. like bro. after i got my money back, i never spotted him cash ever again. it was my own stupidity though, i knew how bad he was at taking care of his finances. but i had been assured since we were so close to payday that there was no excuse. silly me.
